I'm a relatively brave guy.

Today, I purchased some amazing names. I paid a ton of cash. I can't report how much due to an NDA. I've paid buckets of money to develop one of the best MOBI portfolios.

I am willing to risk one of the names (600.mobi) in a SEDO auction.

Basically, I am setting the reserve at a fraction of what I paid for the name.

WHY?

A) Because I'm an entrepreneur, and I love the rush of buying and selling great intellectual property. When I know that I'm on the line, it's simply exciting to me!

B) Because I believe deeply that this is an outstanding name - whether from a branding and development standpoint or an ultimate future click through advertising revenue stream.

SO HOW DOES THIS WORK?

First offer of $1000 will be accepted into auction. Basically, if nobody bids more than $1000 during the auction term, the 600.MOBI name is yours. The name would be yours for far, far less of what I paid today. If someone else bids more then they become the binding high bidder - and so on.

It is my bet that the name will get multiple bids during the auction.

I received an email on 600.mobi asking me to pull the auction for a private bid...

Apparently, this person has more money then understanding of basic contract law. I doubt this is a NP regular. If you are, please take this post constructively.

I informed the private bidder that I am bound to SEDO and the high bidder, and that if I pull the auction I put myself in default of an existing contract.

They didn't respond.

So, basically, long and short of it, I may have just pushed the highest valued future bidder out of the running.

That's life....!

I've received many, many emails and PM's regarding 300, 600 and 900.mobi.

Assuming that the response, and the private bidder stated above, have any effect on the sale of 600.mobi - it could be, at the very least, an interesting 10AM Saturday morning.

If it ends at $2,850 or goes to $10,000+ it's going to be fun to track it to the bitter end!
