Hey Guys,

For those of you that sell hand regs, do any of you know if the 60 day transfer of registrar restriction applies to newly registered domains? If so, is there any way to get around this restriction to sell a domain that is under 60 days old? I have used account transfers in the past but I was wondering if there was a way to allow a sale to a buyer without forcing the buyer to create an account on my registrar.

Thanks

The 60-Day rule is one put in by ICANN. That means it isn't even up to the registrars, It's just flat out required. Therefor, I don't think you're going to find a registrar that would do it. Internal accounts transfers will have to work for you until the first 60 days is over.

Yep, global regulation and a logical one indeed. Especially with all the hosting providers offering free domains and trying to stay competitive with a moneyback guarantee period its a must. Otherwise I can just run around registering hosting accounts, transferring out the free domains and canceling afterwards. Might not be so convenient for domainers but you cant please them all I guess ;)
