Looking for a little help + explanation from anybody who knows about how the 60 Day Lock works

From previous sales this hasn't gotten in the way before, maybe because I was pushing from GoDaddy to GoDaddy? But lately Iv'e been making the most of the £1 sale at FastHosts and regging my domains there,
and Iv'e recently sold one of the domains there but the lock is affecting the sale

Buyer has paid and has requested auth code to transfer to GoDaddy, only for me to get an email from the buyer saying that the domain is infact locked at the registrar

Iv'e called FastHosts and the lady on the line had 0 motivation to try to help, which I get she was tired so sure, so I'm turning to Nameprosssssssss the best domain forum, hopefully some of you wonderful people know better than me and can help

Here are the questions sitting on my mind:

- How exactly does 60 day lock work? Does it stop pushs' to the same registrar, or only transfers out?
- Do all registrars have it, or is there a way to check on a particular registrar if a domain will have the lock once regged?
- Is there any way to bypass it, and so to not keep the buyer waiting?
- Are there any services or registrars where I can transfer my domain there and back for free, to see if it's locked or to at least see how long is left of a lock? I didn't even know it was locked until the buyer told me - it doesn't say anything otherwise on my domain settings

Thanks in advance, and on a better note I hope everyone's domaining is going smoother than this at the minute :-,

Right there is your #1 problem this is what happens when you try to buy cheap domains. You will have to wait till the 60 days is up!

All registers have 60day locks, this prevents from domain therft. The 60 day lock does NOT prevent you from pushing the domain to somone elses account at the same register. It DOES however prevent you from transfering out to another Register. Their are a few registers that allow you to release early, but those are only a select few. I believe Namesilo is one of them. I know for a FACT that Fasthosts does have a 60day lock which is very normal for any register.

Once a domain has been pushed to somone else account regardless if it was pushed inside the register or transfered from another register it will get a 60day lock. This is an ICANN rule!

I am afraid with fasthosts their is no way for you to by pass it, Just try and help the buyer create an account at fasthosts.
