Hi there, I have a few Domain Names which get a decent amount of type-in traffic however they do not contain any keywords in particular and I am earning little to no profit from them, although each name receives about 20+ clicks a day.

I believe no matter what keywords I set these Domains to market, I will be receiving these clicks. For example, if I own Basketball related Domain Name and have the keywords set to Online Marketing, I will be getting those clicks.

My question is... do people set irrelevant Domain Names up with High Paying Keywords that have a ton of competition? And is it legal/allowed.

Please let me know, thanks.

its not legal and many parking companies mention this point specifically in their terms n condition. few may allow this.

again ads appearing for the user dependents on what user was searching earlier before landing to ur page and what ur domain name consists of and then geographical location and then the keyword which you have set..

But that raises a question on "Brandable" Domain Names which do not contain any particular Keywords within the name itself.

For example, I own Typees.com, I plan on developing a Forum for people with Type E personalities to share their creativity among one another and to make Business Deals / Networking. However, Type E and Typee is 2 totally different keywords. In this case, what keywords would I set here? And why would placing the keywords to "Los Angeles Lawyer" be illegal? "Typee" does not exist.

I hope I made sense, I am trying to.

All input appreciated. Thanks ahead of time!

If you get the clicks whatever you use, then I'd leave the keyword empty and let the parking provider decide what ads to show. I wouldn't use irrelevant high paying keywords.

Why? Because your parking provider might block your domain (or account) for using irrelevant keywords, and secondly, who is visiting your site? Presumably it's Type E personalities. If they see irrelevant stuff on the page, they are unlikely to make those clicks.

Just ask your parking provider whether you should leave the keyword empty or whether you should use something else. They have a wealth of experience in these matters.
