Hello everyone,
I see a lot of posts asking for this type of information, and also a lot of posts with inaccurate information, so I thought I would make this available to everyone.

If anyone sees a problem with any of my statistics please let me know...

***Keep in mind that about 1-2% more domains are registered than noted here.
This report was pulled from the zone file which exempts any domains without nameservers. Which as best as I can tell runs about a 1-2% average.

15 - 20 registrations per day..., 18.000 days only left till buyout with that rate.

My thoughts are this:

You will not see any buyout happening in the coming weeks or even months ahead unless some things drastically change. You need to see 4l.com chips move up sharply again, not stay at 9k RMB type prices of today. From there if 4l chips do rebound for a while then you'll need investors to risk big money to take out the last junk names frankly as no one else is going to do it for them (this is possible of course).

A massive problem here, is the chinese economy seems to be doing better lately and global stock markets have been rising sharply for a long time now. There is very little incentive for chinese investors moving away from the stock market whilst they are killing it there and in other areas outside of domaining.

It would be a brave investor to call the top of the chinese stock market right now.
I have personally written off most of the value of my 5l chips for a while and am going to hold for now but no way will I renew them even if the market doesn't improve in the coming months.

The slowdown in this market is the same as what's going on with 7n.coms, 6n.coms, 4l.coms etc. There is little real desire to put serious money into the market unless the above changes dramatically IMO.

You are right, I see a huge drop in prices for 6Ns and 7Ns for example. Up to 50% drop.

Yep, as I know all too well from holding a ton of 6n's.
Fortunately most of my 6n's are way above what I paid for them and am selling some now and holding others hoping for a better time.

No one can predict which way this is going for any chinese domains, be it 6n's, 5l's,4l.coms etc.
All I do know is as long as chinese investors are crushing it elsewhere there's 0 incentive to come back to domains in a serious way and 5l.coms will be at the bottom of their priorities if they do return in a serious way.

I may lose high 4 figures net in 5l's which i'll live with. As for others that have invested more than this I hope they get out in one piece is all I can say!

The problem is if even the buyout happens in 3-4 months (unrealistic, but still), the time will be too close to the massive number or renewals coming up and we all know registrars are not eager to give renewal discounts, differing from buy super specials.

The best strategy for most would be either drop and forget or drop and try to catch again with new promos and try luck for another year (I don't recommend, but still better than just holding).

1) I have invested in a 5L .com domain ifcjl(.)com
The speciality is 18 other extensions were registered by a chinese company.

2) I invested in Slyco.com major extensions taken and a dozen companies exists in this name.

But I not investing based on patterns for 5L.

Any suggestions welcome

These are not Chinese Premium. Chinese Premium or Chips is any domain name without (a,e,i,o,u,v)

Based on your signature, your thread is titled "Chinese Ultra Premium 5L", right now those are without letters (a,e,i,o,u,v,l,n,p,q,r)

Although, your names might be useful to people in China but they are not called "Chips".

You know like the fact that every lion has a tail but not every tail has a lion. :)

Best of luck!
