I was going to develop some of my other domains first, but this one has my mind churning. So..I need a logo. I haven't thought of anything yet, but here is what I am trying to turn the site into (There will probably be a site design contest later as well).

I am going to try and develop it as an online "TV" station to show unsigned/local band music videos or live footage. You guys have been doing some great designs lately, so I'm interested to see what you come up with. One request I have is that .TV is in the logo as that is the format I am going for. Feel free to add slogans to the logo too. Feedback will be given.

In the designs, try and include a small symbol, as guetizo did below, that could be placed on the videos that would tie into the logo.

This contest will end on Nov. 8th and I will make my decision by the 9th.

Thanks

Feedback

OK, time for a little feedback.

vivsin : Calm down. I just posted the contest before I went to bed and I just got up. I said I would give feedback it just takes a little time. With that being said, I like how you are going for a kinda abstract feel, but not exactly what I'm looking for. Colors aren't bad though. Also, its not onlinebands.tv, it is LocalBands.TV.

vip-ip : Nice designs, but not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm not really a fan of the red/blue color scheme either. I need something a little more focused around the TV aspect of it aswell.

One Armed Scissor : I like your logo design. Its a good start but I think it needs a little something extra. Try it with different fonts and colors.

Also, something to remember is this should be vector art. I may want to make it bigger to put on merchandise or other things aswell.

Good entries so far and looking for more to come.

Thanks

will7 : I like the design. Maybe a different phrase though. Also, can you make the tv around "bands" look a little different.

skyblue : Not a big fan of the picture of the guitar or the font/color. I don't think I want any pictures of items in the logo, just drawings.

I'm leaning towards the phrase "Real Music Television" for the site, so try and incorporate that as well. Also, most TV's now don't have the "rabbit ear" antennas. Try a different more modern design with the tvs.

Thanks

Hi JustinWI,

Here's my entry. 100% vector artwork.
Actually this is an 3-in-one. Let's see: You've got the modern plasma TV, got the image with the website's name and in the right upper corner you've got the subtil little logo hanging there "LB". :)
What do you say?
Let's see it!

Please, understand that the color scheme presented here here can change to your likings so as the position of the plasma, etc.

Feedback is appreciated.

Here are some more revisions:

localbands22ww.jpg

Made the TV look more TV-ish and, I stuck with the "rabbit ears" for memorability of the logo. People will automatically know that, due to the rabbit ears, it is a TV whereas if it was just two rectangles or something, people might not know what it was or may not instantly recognise the logo. If you still want me to change it, however,, then I will.

Feedback appreciated :)

interesting. expect a submission from me...

guetizo. slight comment if I may... the proportions are a tad bit off on the plasma (the shadow also) in addition to the jaggedness of the outline. looks as if you used a line tool which is not always a good idea I have come to find which is why I strickly use brushes in Freehand so that all my lines are smooth and one flow.

just some constructive feedback from a designer to a designer... sometimes we overlook some things an outside source may catch. ;)

guetizo : Nice design. Try doing the TV in silver instead of black. I like how you put the Lb in the top corner. It is something I never even thought about. I'm definately going to incorporate that idea into the videos on the site. Try some different color schemes as well.

will7 : I totally understand your use of the "rabbit ears" in your current design for the reasons you stated. It still feels a little bland. Try some different fonts and colors.

vivsin : Just not what I'm looking for.

All : In future designs, try and include a small symbol, as guetizo did, that could be placed on the videos that would tie into the logo.

Thanks for all of the great entries so far.

gio~logist : Not really feeling the design. I don't really like the cursive font and the tv symbol isn't what I'm looking for.

Niek : Not bad, but kind of bland. I was looking for a more updated version of a TV as well.
