Regular price for a .COM transfer is $11.05. With this discount, a .COM domain can be transferred for $5.52.

The offer requires that the domain remain registered with UD for the entire first year. If at any time during the first year period, the Customer wants to transfer the domain to another registrar, Customer must first pay UD the 50% savings (maximum $5.53)

Limit: The total discount for all transfers cannot exceed $11,000 per customer.

Just remember all if you want to transfer before 1 year (you will pay the promo back). Not saying it's a bad deal - but just make sure you understand the promo terms

ialways say tnx alot for handing me 2k free. cause I ain't going nowhere b4 1yr.

the only way to fock up this super promo is of they screw us by hiking renewals to above avg. now they are avg so it's ok.

but I dont thik they will cause they sound nice and smart. and to do this would be registrar suicide forever.

They told once that this policy work otherwise, eg. one must keep and renew with them one year before they can transfer without pay back the promo reduction. Meaning we must renew with them after our 1 year comes to end.
I think we can sue them for such lies!

There is an old post from Twitter, it was shared by them here, where it said similar.
I then wrote even with such promo and rules, it is still is economy to transfer lots of domains, cause only one domain transfer $5.55 then renew $11 = 2 years of pay $16.55, something like this. I not remember proper but it was here somewhere and they confirmed later, that is why there were 2 versions of this promo, this creates confusion to me till now.
p.s. they also offer discounts on nGTLD's which is great.

There are still some odd things that happen when trying to update the DNS.

you're not forced to do anything, the default for new registrations is for them to get our landers. this is standard at most registrars.

you can update this behavior in the presets tab > forwarding, or add your own presets.

you do not need to renew with us as part of the promo. you can e.g. transfer in, wait 1 year, then transfer out at no extra charge during remaining valid registration time or during our 40 day grace period

That is very good, but I think I have hit my limit, also I heard some guys got free transfers, but not me, I still have allot to transfer.
