Regular price for a .COM transfer is $11.05. With this discount, a .COM domain can be transferred for $5.52.

The offer requires that the domain remain registered with UD for the entire first year. If at any time during the first year period, the Customer wants to transfer the domain to another registrar, Customer must first pay UD the 50% savings (maximum $5.53)

Limit: The total discount for all transfers cannot exceed $11,000 per customer.

If you have to think about a promotion so much, it's a rubbish promotion! UD try hard to look a lot bigger than what they actually are.

It seems you can transfer domains which have more than a year of expiry, you wait one year so they can see the domains then after one year you can transfer away. Or if it have some months of expiry, it renews one year and during remaining months you can transfer away.
They want to see my secret domains.

If there is privacy protect on your domains you cant transfer to here. If your domain is expired you cant transfer here. Their system is very old times softwares.

If you plan to keep the domain with UD for a year, this discount is good. But if you might want to transfer it again soon, you may need to pay extra later to move it.

I liked this transparency about UD. Many registrars don’t disclose such conditions upfront, and users only find out when they try to transfer out. At least UD is being transparent about the lock-in period and extra fees before you finalize the transfer.

Promo with a limit of 100 per customer, this is only for .COM domain registrations for $5.00. Promo is only available on Fridays from 00:00 -23:59 NYC time.
