How about using Cloudflare free dns hosting and create the glue records there and then point the ns to the newly created one? I have not tried it and so not sure if technically it will work. But you can check with the tech support to know if that will work. If it will work, it wont take much time to create an account and record there.

The company's customer service removed the 60-day limit and granted me a free transfer. Although I experienced an issue with the Glue DNS service, they resolved my problem by taking a proactive approach. Thank you @Unstoppable Domains

I have found their team to be super responsive. A big plus

That's encouraging. Yet do their replies rise to the level of meaningful, factual answers this time?

Sometimes. If we're picking on CS responses, I could pull responses from every single registrar where CS responses leave a lot to be desired. I would simply say I do not find UD to be worse than any other CS department, and better than some. Some of the worst CS reps include GoDaddy and Sav. But I've also previously had some questionable responses from Dyna, PorkBun, and Spaceship. So really, no registrar has fully trained CS staffs that are 100% correct. For that matter, neither am I.

The DNS seems pretty odd.

They try to force you to use the forwarding to the sales landers.

This creates problems if you are trying to point anything to your own websites.

Because I use my own server at home. I've been using glue DNS for the last 10 years. I've been through more than 10 companies. This is the only company I've seen that doesn't support glue DNS.

Yeah, they're pretty responsive. I've had nothing but great interactions with their team.

Out of curiosity, I talked to someone from Unstoppable Domains a bit about the glue records issue. They're working on updating their docs; it sounds like this was only the first or second time anyone contacted them about it. They're targeting domainers more so than end users right now, so it's not surprising glue records are a rare request.

It's not needed to investigate the presence of this basic EPP function before using a registrar, because it's highly unusual for a modern domain registrar to completely lack the feature to set DNS glue records. It's not your fault at all.
You know as well as I do nothing is "basic" when it comes to EPP. :P If I had a penny for every time a registrar messed up the EPP calls to handle glue records (or the transfer of domains with glue records attached that I never even set), I'd be retired and chilling on the beach with Frank Schilling.

What's more unusual to me is a registrar that exclusively targets investors. That's an intriguing approach: we're a stingy yet loyal bunch. I'm curious to see how it plays out.

Somehow, Google AI Overview still thinks Unstoppable Domains doesn't offer the creation of glue records for another reason. But the info seems outdated, and about the period before they got their ICANN accreditation.

"Unstoppable Domains does not allow the creation of glue records directly, as it manages both blockchain and traditional DNS domains with a focus on on-chain technology. For traditional domains like .com, a domain's registrar (not Unstoppable Domains) is responsible for creating glue records, which are necessary when a domain's nameservers are subdomains of that same domain to prevent a circular dependency. This means you must go to the registrar where you originally registered the domain to create them."

Indeed--and the concept of glue records doesn't make sense in the context of Web3, so it wouldn't have been a concern prior to that.

sorry about your experience, and glad support took care of you here so you walked away with some free years of registration for your trouble.

we've since added lack of glue records to our docs so in the future, folks know. As Paul mentioned it's a very rare request that we get and we've been prioritizing more important features that our domainer audience is likely to use. We're only a year old, and so we don't yet have the support for the hundreds of small features that these other registrars do (who have been around for 20 years). Thanks for your patience.

you're not forced to do anything, the default for new registrations is for them to get our landers. this is standard at most registrars.

you can update this behavior in the presets tab > forwarding, or add your own presets.

this is a generic blog post about DNS issues and how to fix them. It does not say that we support glue records
Your support told that you weren't offering it because spammers use it. Educate your team.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I have never received anything from them and it just costs me time to keep helping their customers out on this forum.
