Everyone needs to be aware that the $5.52 transfer deal requires that you also pay an additional $11.05 to renew each domain before you will be allowed to transfer each domain to any other registrar.

seem fair price, have u ever tried to transfer to UD ?
Yes, I transferred my domain to UD, and it successfully arrived in my account after the standard 5-day transfer period. However, in todayโ€™s domain industry, where most registrars support fast transfers, this delay feels outdated. A quicker transfer process would definitely improve the experience.

Hey all! Brady here from @Unstoppable Domains

Glad to see you all are keen on leveraging this transfer in promo as well as our $5 .com registrations every friday

Let me answer everyone's questions/confusion here:

Everyone needs to be aware that the $5.52 transfer deal requires that you also pay an additional $11.05 to renew each domain before you will be allowed to transfer each domain to any other registrar.

This is incorrect - if the domain is transferred out before 1 year has passed, for any reason (including sedoMLS fast transfers or any other transfer), you need to pay us back the discount we gave you (which will be at most $5.53). This is to ensure we aren't being taken advantage of for the free year of registration that's included with transfers
this limitation is also in the promo of 100 new registeration every Friday for every person? Or UD is having 2 separated promos?
this is a separate promotion! you can read more about our $5 .com registration Fridays here

Do they accept credit card or paypal?
yes to both - plus crypto, and soon, bank transfer

Please elaborate on expired domain transfers - does this mean we cannot transfer in domains that have expired, or does it mean we cannot transfer out of UD domains within the 30 days grace period, ie 13 months from now.
it means the former - domains that have already expired will likely not transfer in properly, though you can still try

If there is privacy protect on your domains you cant transfer to here
we will fix this issue this week, meaning that you don't need to turn off privacy or confirm the transfer in an email in order to transfer in to us. we also bulk transfer submissions of up to 500 domains at a time so whales will have an easy time

I hope this clears things up, please reply or DM me on twitter if you have any questions!

We have 300k customers, 4m web3 domains under management, & a proven, high-integrity team & investors

Further, our ICANN accreditation means that registrants are given many protections, including the ability to move domains to another registrar in the case of bankruptcy.

But your transfer promotion sounds like an insurance policy..

Hi,
My domain expiry is 27 Feb 2025. If I make a transfer to UD today (18 Feb 2025) ,
Do I need to pay extra 50% UD saving to get AuthCode if I want to transfer this domain to another registrar on 20 Feb 2026 ?

If transfer promo ( the 50% savings ) + renewal fix price for next year will be awesome

it straightforwardly ensures we aren't getting scammed for free money. These terms allow us to safely offer you $11k in savings. If you want simpler terms, use other registrars with stingy promos that only give you discounts on a handful of domains

we're working with registries to lower renewal costs, but that's out of scope for this promo

Can we PUSH domains from 1 ac to another ac at unstoppable?

If yes, will there be a charge similar to transfer, if pushed before 1 year?

It should be obvious that's not what I was referring to. You are completely contradicting what your own support has stated when you just replied to this direct question from Zameer24x7

Read the reply to this same question from Unstoppable support:

Re: Unstoppable Support | policy on transferring .com domain names away from unstoppabledomains.com after the domain names have expired.

Hi there,

For .com domain transfers, please note:
  1. The domain must be actively registered (not expired) to initiate a transfer
  2. You'll need to renew any expired domain before a transfer can be processed
  3. The domain must also be unlocked and you'll need the transfer authorization code
If your domain has expired, you'll need to renew it first through your Unstoppable Domains account before proceeding with any transfer requests.
Please let us know if you need help with the renewal or transfer process.

Regards,
Pepe

our support is reffering to transfer out of Unstoppable, while earlier in this thread I was referring to transferring into Unstoppable. I will clarify our policy as it relates to the ICANN rule and report back

Yikes - I think I just made a huge mistake by transferring all my domains to Unstoppable Domains. The problems:

1. They only have email support (not chat) and their email support is very unresponsive.
2. I created a support ticket; however, they don't appear to have any way to see the support ticket status (which basically means it likely just sends them an email).
3. I checked all of my transferred domains and the custom nameservers did not come over. As far as I can tell, they just defaulted them to their own domain nameservers.
4. When I tried to change the nameservers back to the proper custom ones I had defined, I got an error: "Invalid name servers provided" even though the nameservers I'm entering are exactly correct.
5. This morning I tried to change the nameservers again and was able to do so (so I assume they fixed the bug) BUT the nameservers didn't actually change (i.e., I no longer get the error but it doesn't show in their control panel that the nameservers are now set; still shows pointing to their default nameservers).

Thus, until someone at UD actually fixes this, all of my domains and email are going to go down. Can't recommend them.

Sorry for the trouble here, rest assured I can see your ticket is being discussed internally. The problems was your NS was on a special list with Gransy, our backend provider, hence the issues. Our support team is off on weekends. They should get back to you shortly

For the most part, nameservers and DNS records are preserved on transfer in. Yours were an unfortunate exception

I'm hearing that there's a lot of confusion between the terms of our $5 .com registration fridays and our $5.53 discount on transfers

The transfer promo has the limitation on transfer out, where you need to pay us back the discount before transferring out <1 year after transferring in. This is to prevent abuse of cheap renewals and immediately transferring out

$5 Fridays has no such limitation

also, to address another common question:

you do not need a wallet or any crypto experience to use us. it feels like using a normal registrar.

we allow card & paypal purchases too, and most crypto interactions are completely invisible on our site because we have a built-in wallet that feels just like an account balance.
