4x4.tube

=========
1. Acquisition Reason:
Since it launched 2 years ago, I've believed the .Tube extension would eventually catch fire. The internet was made for video, and people are reading less and less... They want video.

And with Wordpress, it's a one-day project to launch a compelling video site with 100s of embedded niche videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc.

2. Markets: YouTube influencers (examples), 4x4 aftermarket businesses (big money spent in this market), 4x4 / Jeep / offroad clubs, etc...

3. Research: .Tube has not caught on yet โ€“ only (2) .tube sales listed in NameBio.

- vr.tube ($7500)
- boob.tube ($1700)

Despite that, I still think it's a cool extension, and I think it will catch on โ€“ because the name suggests videos about the relevant topic. The .tube extension suggests infotainment, not old-school (boring) business and written information.

4. End-User Value: For the right YouTube Influencer / business / content marketer 4x4.tube could be big. Estibot says "Advertisers pay up to $7 per click to advertise under 4x4"

5. Reseller Value: ?

6. Traffic: 0

7. Revenue: 0

8. Age: 2 years

9. Miscellaneous: Beyond this single domain, I would be interested to hear opinions about the .tube extension. Where is it going in the next 2 - 5 years?

Thanks.

I can get .tube for $26 at Namecheap. For $3 more I get .TV

I would prefer .TV

As to your specific name, I really had no idea what it meant until you explained it. So not sure if it would be something many people would want.

You said it would eventually catch fire. I don't see any smoke. Not excited, more excited about .app:yawn:
Didn't even know there was .tube until now. 2 years 2 sales

Interesting perspective, NY Jimbo.

...Even though TV viewership has been dropping every year?
...And Internet video consumption continues to escalate?
...And YouTube is the #2 most popular site in the English-speaking world?

Based on your position, my reasoning for .tube over .tv must be either (A) dead wrong or (B) ahead of its time.

I admit the evidence suggests (A).

As to your specific name, I really had no idea what it meant until you explained it.
Wait... You're not familiar with the term 4x4?

You make excellent points, and I appreciate your thoughts.

But seriously... what am I missing?

How is .tube so ignored / forgotten in the age of YouTube? ...Even to the point that intelligent Domainers don't know it exists?!? O_o

Every day gibberish .coms and .nets sell for hundreds / thousands. For example...

farenheit.com is on NameJet right now. $2000 bid. $2500 - $5000 reserve. Why? It's long, hard to spell, verrry few searches, no ad value, minimal business opportunity, makes no sense for a blog... And literally *nobody* feels passionate about that word -- except domainers (because it has a .com after it).

...But a meaningful, coherent .tube domain -- containing a valuable, highly searched key term -- (like 4x4.tube) isn't worth even $.01 to you?

I mean no disrespect with my thoughts / questions. I'm just really lost on this.

There is 1000 other extensions, its not ignored its just another extension. So laser beam narrow too
4x4 is good, and a good forwarder to youtube channel or something similar, but these new lol new, extensions have made no attempt to educate the end users. I talk to normal people, end users, seniors at coffee shop, the guy from fiji at work. My hair stylist, tried selling him a .ca while getting a pig shave other day.
To many spammers are tainting these "new " extensions.
It's a clean, short name that has potential for development. Resale at this point is pretty slim me thinks

Yes gibberish sells, still blows my mind what sells. Also, most of us hate the "new" G's so not likely to hear any positive appraisals. Best of luck, anything is possible in this business
