4.95 US Domains?

Hi all,

I've noticed GoDaddy and Enom (some accounts) are selling US/BIZ names for $4.95 each, but it seems that this is only for new registrations. Transfers and Renewals are more expensive.

My questions is if there is anyone who knows where to get US/BIZ names for $4.95, including transfers and renewals. Is this possible?

I know that .c/n/o names cost the registrar $6. What about .us or .biz names? I assume they're less expensive? or have a different pricing structure?

Thanks,

Cybernym

I haven't found cheap biz renewals, but registerfly does offer $6 transfer specials quite often. Sometimes it's cheaper to transfer for the extra year than renew in place if you deal with multiple registrars.

It's a real pain with info/biz/us now though for any bulk amount due to all the auth codes involved. I think most figure it won't be worth your trouble on the transfer to save a couple $, so they dont' lower renewal prices.

is 4.95 the normal price?>

What's normal? I have a strange Enom account where US and BIZ cost me more than c/n/o's, so I've resorted to GoDaddy (which is cheaper but more annoying) and RegFly (which is unpredictable when it will work or not).

Proxus,

Looks like GoDaddy is doing transfers also for $4.95, but I don't think they're renewalsare that low (maybe someone can correct me). It is possible, I think, to register many years at a time for the same rate.

You also can only normally take advantage of a transfer price for the one year included with transfer, I haven't see where you could extend 2 years at that price.

When you reg immediately for more years they all are 4.95$

I don't know for GoDaddy but for eNom :

US/BIZ Promotion Ending June 30
On June 30, 2004 US/BIZ pricing reverts to the standard COM/NET rate. Use this opportunity to complete any US/BIZ transfers or new registrations at the lower rate.

Don't wait :)

David.

FYI, from RegFly:

For a limited time (several more days) you can still pickup your .us or .biz domain for only $5.99 each! What this means is you can get a descriptive .us or .biz name for nearly $4.00 off our regular price. This special pricing promotion is due to end of the month so hurry up now and get .us and .biz names now.
Also you can save EVEN BIGGER by transferring your .us or .biz names to RegisterFly.com for only $4.99 each!. This offer too ends in a few days so hurry up now.

So, does this mean that all those Enom accounts that have $4.95 pricing on us and biz names will be losing their discount?

Yes it ends the end of June. This also applies to godaddy special pricing as well

So they'll be bumped up to $6.95? And those accounts with 5.95 pricing will be bumper up to $7.95?

Thanks for the details!

Sorry, forgot to mention that, but I quoted act837 from another thread here, and you can found that at enom website :

.US/.Biz special pricing program ends June 30, 2004
Just a reminder to resellers that the .US/.Biz special pricing program ends June 30, 2004.

The rates will revert back to your normal reseller prices. Your margins for profit on your sub-accounts will be converted as they are now.

Thanks. So the account advertising $4.95 prices on Ebay is good for just a couple days - yikes.

OK I foun that info in my reseller account also. So what is eNom's normal pricing structure for .biz .us?

Hmm... I suspect it's just the same as c/n/o's. I've got a funny account though, so I pay more for us and biz than the others. So, I've been registering those at GoDaddy (when I want cheap) & RegFly (when I get annoyed at all GoDaddy's ads).

Anyone want to help me remedy that? Send a PM!
