I watched the news last night about a study for teens
and texting.
They were using a simulator and texting while pretend
driving...quite interesting stats.
Not sure if it was in 3D but this name would suit it to a tee
if it was!

Good Luck with the Sale :)

Nice.. Picked that one up last year 3dDrivingTest. (com)

My 3d thread got deleted for some reason*.

There are hundreds of "premium" 3d domains for sale via GoDaddy. The very same ones that were going to make people millionaires could now make you a millionaire......

It's shocking actually to see how many are dropping with an age of "1 year". Some of the names are shocking 3dSarahPalin.com was a favorite but there are some good ones and some marginal ones that you may be able to do a quick flip on. Definitely a lot are better than what some people are still hand regging.

I actually do own 1 3d domain that will be dropping there.. but I did pick up one that I think I can use that was a little longer in the tooth. So I do have ONE. So don't tell me I'm anti 3D!

Last year 3dmovieprojector.com would have got people excited. This year? Not so much. It's expiring.

So there are no doubt PLENTY of GoDaddy 3d sales. You might even find some worthy ones. Like I said, some of them aren't too bad if you have a penchant for 3d. I bought 8 altogether and dropped them all.. I lost interest. My total investment profit loss was +$30 I think...lol

When do the Holo names drop?

*MAYBE A MOD CAN EXPLAIN TO ME WHY?!?! or can I just not find it?

most people don't know how to sell a domain and make a quick ROI and move on instead they hold for the big offer..it doesn't happen and then they drop the domain...then the shrewd domainer pick's it up... flip's the domain and makes a ROI and buys something better!

You are quite right..would you like to give us the benefit of your knowledge so we stop wasting so much time and money? I've let a few drop which i thought were pretty good. I did renew one info but only because most other xtensions were taken.

True :)

I would look if the other extensions are developed. It's not rare that a domain is taken in 10 differents TLDs and all are parked/undeveloped. In fact they are speculative regs.

I still drop domains, you can't always win, but the sales more than offset the loss, that's what matters.

I'm too lazy. I have intentions then I find something else to do then the year ends and I'm like ...wtf? It expired already? Oh well. :)

I do have FORENSIC-3D.COM (without the dash) though because I'm interested in legal domains at the moment and scene recreations is a nice market. Not heavily advertised but I nice segment. I like that the main keyword is first, too. Doesn't hurt that it has some age to it, also as an original 2001 reg.

If nothing else it affords me the opportunity to spend hours reading about this when I'm bored... I like learning about things and this is like buying a book to me.

See ya next year :)

Still, I haven't seen many advertised sales recently and it seems that here where I am the whole 3D thing has almost gone away - I think because the main market was TV and we're at the stage where the market is two fold.

Cheap
Expensive (which have 3d by default)

But good luck anyway. I think there's still plenty of $100-300 sales being dropped if you have the time (or $38 at Bido).

Good advice. I still reg names on impulse that i think are clever or humorous and let them drop after stagnating on sedo for a year. Should make more of an effort i suppose.

DK - Without knowing what you have been offered it's a little hard to comment on whether you should keep or sell.

By the way, nice dn! If/when 3D gains momentum you are right about it's possible niches, maybe even "customer support" too.

Promising article on 3D TV's on CNET today see below.. Will this lead to future 3d domain sales?

"According to an In-Stat report released today, 3D TV shipments will be up nearly 500 percent worldwide this year, compared with 2010. In-Stat also predicts that sometime soon all televisions with screen sizes of 40 inches and above will come with 3D functionality.

My busiest domain is a 3d tv cctld domain, it earned enough over the Christmas period for all my 3d renewals. It has recently been challenged for top position by a 3d printer related cctld although earnings are nowhere near the same level. Maybe this year will see more interest in 3d domains.
