Some months ago, our partner company acquired the set of premium names 3d.com/net/org + 3-d.com, 3dForum.com/3dNews.com 3dCasino.com & few others ...

Now DomainEmpire.com Ltd (our company) is part of 3dWorld.com SA so we're studying together the most profitable way to develop these premium domains.

There were tons of ideas on the table until we released the best solution was to build a big network to give the chance to any motivated webmaster/company to own/lead a section of the future portal with all related profits, of course :)

We're surely looking to build a successful business but we hate speculating on this genuine project where we'd love to give anyone a chance to make money while having fun with their favourite hobbies so our slogan will be something like: "Turn your hobby into a multi-million successful business".

We think to start from the end of September but we're surely ready to activate since now the website (subdomain) of anyone interested in starting since now to be part of our community.

Without entering too much in details, the basic idea is to allow to anyone to lead a section of the future community by choosing a subdomain which might represent a specific field or just his own company (games.3d.com, casino.3d.com printing.3d.com etc ...).
We'll build a general directory of all member websites listed under the most appropriate category and permanently accessible from the homepage of our network (3d.com) where all traffic will converge considering anyone will need to pass from there to surf through the internal blogs or to login to their own website.

Anyone will permanently take advantage of the growing traffic of visitors who'll start to visit his website (subdomain) and there's no limit to the growth of our community considering we plan to invest a lot in the project and we're already finding multiple motivated financers ready to partecipate in it.

We'll reach a permanent agreement with any webmaster (community member or section leader, as you prefer calling him) where we can either agree on a small yearly rental fee (as the only cost to permanently use a subdomain to whom we'll continue to send indirectly a growing flow of targeted traffic) but we can also study targeted joint ventures especially with the webmasters interested in leading the most sought sections with a multi-million money making potential once developed/used in the right way (ie: games.3d.com , printing.3d.com , shop.3d.com , casino.3d.com and so on).

Well, here's what we'd like to do and what we need to know (as a first step): we'd like to offer ftp/cpanel access to each subdomain but we're planning to add many additional tools and we've already an agreement to offer a professional ecommerce portal while more agreements will be reached in the coming months to constantly increase the quality and professionality of our server.

We don't plan to charge any additional fee (apart the agreed one through an individual agreement with each webmaster) while their tools, advantages and traffic will constantly continue to grow, weeks after weeks ...

It's an ambitious project where the community will be builded by thousands of members who'll interact among each other in a totally new and innovative way.
We'll also have a general community forum at forum.3d.com and a "member newsletter" build with targeted 3d articles written by members and by external suppliers in exchange of a link to their website exposed towards our big audience.

So here're the reasons for this posting:

1. Starting to collect opinions and genuine critics on this idea;
2. Starting to collect emails of people interested in helping to concretize our idea (and we're not asking for free help of course because anyone will get a compensation for their services in terms of money or other advantages/rights over a part of our future network).
3. We're not server experts nor developers (even if we'll soon have many in our future team) so we need to understand if there's any difficulties/disadvantages in offering ftp/cpanel access to each subdomain and how doing that.

I'll not be directly involved in the project but I'll simply work as an external agent with multiple roles including the right to fix a meeting (or a conference call) with a project responsible for anyone interested in taking part to it but an email is more than enough to reach a simple agreement to lead a "secondary section".

Such a generic phrase will never shine as much as a niche/specific type of product. 3D marketplace, or magazine w/ affiliate links.

The technology is fizzling. China (and soon the US) is rolling out 4D now; plus, VR is in your way too.

If the back-of-the-mind idea was 3D TV's, scratch it immediateltly. Best of luck, I have an offer if you struggle finding a module for such a once-important domain.

An idea for 3D.com would be a business plan based on Teespring model. As a user you design your product and sell at a 50/50. I estimate around $8k - $10k investment for the platform (must be very user friendly) + 5 printers + starting marketing budget. Can be tricky, but if is done right, might be a golden nugget.
