INTRODUCTION
The Rosen Valuation is a method for valuing a potential domain based on a formula that includes search volume for the keyword, and also the cost per click that advertisers are willing to pay. And while the dollar amount of the valuation isn't super accurate, it can help to determine if a domain has value, and also how that value might compare to other similar domains.

INSTRUCTIONS

Feel free to register as many domains as you like, but please post the names of the number of the domain you have registered, so that I can mark it as no longer available.

NOTE: I personally don't often buy domains that are more than 2 words long, although historical sales have shown that many 3+ word domains have sold for decent amounts. I recommend only buying domains if you can clearly imagine who would want to buy your domain, or if you have a personal excitement about the domain. For example, I very nearly bought elephantsoftheworld.com just because I like elephants.

i am sure your intentions are good. but there may be newbies around.. tempted to believe that these have good potential.. or that to claim that valuation tools, even best of them, have any value or should be used.. which they shouldn't.. or even to warn them not to reg domains based on as you put it "personal excitements"...

so I am posting this to thank you for good intentioned effort... and warn newbies to read and learn a lot before regging stuff.. and not to reg anything off your list.

I certainly won't argue with you Alcy, I can see you're a highly active member who brings a LOT of value to the forum.

I however, do honestly believe that these domains are WAY better than many of the domains I'm seeing people registering for resale, and while I'm not advocating these specific domains, using a method like the Rosen method combined with thinking about who would want to buy your domain IS going to yield better domain choices than what I'm seeing a lot of people buying.

Anyhow... as you said... it's a good intentioned effort. And I'd rather people regged these than some of the other random worthless domains I've seen purchased with zero logic or reasoning behind them.

If my post only serves to get people thinking in new ways that are more geared towards truly valuing a domain using ACTUAL criteria, then my post was worth it.

You are right though in posting the warning for newbies... my post did have warnings, but perhaps not clearly enough.

I'll repeat my main warning from my post:

"I recommend only buying domains if you can clearly imagine who would want to buy your domain"

I'll be more blunt though, you have as much chance of being struck by lightning than any of the above domains have of selling.

I'm not saying the domains are good, or worth investing in, but they are interesting to consider, research, etc. And who knows... many of them are WAY better than a lot of the domains people are "investing" in on this forum.
