Maybe. or maybe not. Talk to someone you can trust and let them know what the domain is. Remember that just because there are lots of searches, it doesn't mean your domain is going to get many when it's parked.

Maybe, can't tell you unless we know the name of the domain, use godaddy's $1.18 coupon and register it, what have you got to lose?.

Hai folks,

this is the domain name i reged using netfirms 1.99$ domain offer : nieuwssrilanka.com - while i was seeing what my country (sri lanka) related searches are going on at gakt with all language option set to, i found "nieuws srilanka" has a 300000 'broad' searches global monthly.

amzing i did not even get a single hit yet at bido :(

I don't see that there are any...

Here is another test to do: Search in Google with and without the quotes as in "nieuws srilanka". When you don't use quotes it's like a broad match. The results you see will have the words on the page, but they may not be close together.

When you search with quotes, those works MUST be on the page together and in the same order. This is like the exact match.

Even if there were many searches for those words, you may not get any hits to your parked domain. People would have to type in the domain name directly and the number that do that is not large, and gets smaller as the domain name gets longer. :)

Lastly, "nieuws" does not seem to be English, so you should limit your research to the language or country where it is used.

You have 5 days to get a refund on a domain you register, but I would keep it. You can still make a nice site out of it and it will be a reminder of this painful domain learning experience we all have to go through. :)
