Yeah that's right,
Recently I have sold a domain name that is registered with LWS.fr
I wanted to push the domain into the new owner account who is also a LWS client, but they asked me to pay 30 EUROS to do that.

I contacted them since I'm used to push domains on Godaddy and Namecheap and many other registrar for FREE, and also I told them that it will be cheaper to move the domain to another registrar for just 6 EUROS instead of paying 30 EUROS , and this is their reply , it's the most dump reply ever:

So what do you think about this, is this acceptable ?

Greed! This is one of the reasons I avoid some names no matter how good if I am not familiar with the registrars because there is always something about hidden fees or holding your name to ransom.

Totally unacceptable.

Is the domain in question a .com or a European extension?

Then run a mile and transfer everything you have out of them ASAP.

Clearly a shady registrar.

I have seen such thing happen nly with .To domains. To puah .To domain, you have to pay $50 lol but for a .com ? That is crazy.

You could link them to this thread and tell them their reputation is on the line, if they don't stop messing you about.

But I would simply transfer out then deal with a shady registrar myself.

I have done that already , I hope they won't get mad and delete the domain before transferring it to another registrar

I hope you don't have your payment information there because next thing is,you will get charged.Be careful.
The email is saying "the registry is asking us to pay to change the owner contact of a domain name, that's why we ask you to pay".
That's the dumbest lie I ever heard.

I have added a new screenshot that confirm my thread , please check it out , it's a .com domain and they are not ever giving me a clear answer for that invoice that I have to pay

Bad business practice.I don't see what they offer that makes it special to charge a "greedy" fee to push a name between accounts.

Fortunately that the only domain I have with them , and it was the one of the first names I have registered , I have never guessed they're greedy like that

Some registrars are just not domainer friendly. For example, Gandi, being freaking great registrar over all, are just not for domainers, they don't have free push. Besides, nobody owes you free pushes or whatever. So, before regging a domain with a new registrar, it's your duty as a client to read all their terms and tariffs. When i'm going to register a domain at some new for me registrar, i always send them email or ticket and ask about everything, how the push works, how much costs, etc. If you didn't read their tariffs, it's solely your mistake and responsibility, and no need to call them "greedy".

I will call them "stupid" instead , why they are asking for 30 euros when transferring a domain to another registrar cost only 6 euros + 1 year renewal.
Registrars SHOULD be domainers friendly , otherwise they are losing a lot of clients , since only domainers do bulk registration

Hello,

No we will not block your domain name, you can transfer it if you prefer.
We ask our customer to pay to push the domain name to another account because this change the owner contact of the domain name at the registry directly.
So the person who ask this change isn't the owner of the domain name anymore and can't manage it anymore.
In order to prevent any fraud, we deal with every request manually.
Some registrars don't ask to pay, because they have decided to deal with it automatically.
In your case, the domain name was created less than 6 months ago and you manage only one domain in your account so we have to deal with your request manually in order to prevent any fraud.
As you asked to our sales department, we have validated it freely for you today (we have sent you an email 1 hour ago). Your request will be dealed with today and the new owner will be able to manage his domain name in his account in the next hours.

Best Regards,

LWS

@LWS Please explain the response from your support, where they stated that you pay to the registry to change the contact information of the domain name.

Verisign does not charge a penny to change contacts
