"petroleum electric hybrid vehicle" and "petroleum-electric hybrid vehicle" google search yeild only 61 results

also reffered as Hybrid-electric petroleum vehicles

Maybe this name is not so exclusive.

Going to have to agree with the above post. My previous post was without such research--only based off what you said. I know next to nothing about hybrid vehicles and therefore assumed your term was the most widely accepted/used. It doesn't seem that's the case, however.
