$3.99 Domains

Anybody seen this: http://domainsarefree.com/. Globat is now offering $3.99 domains.

Has anyone tried out their system? What kinds of management options does it include?

...Yikes! It doesn't check to see if the domain is registered until _after_ you give them your credit card info.

Hmm. I don't think it's a scam -- Globat's a pretty big hosting company. But I tried it with a domain and it is strange that none of my registration info was showing up. Maybe it just takes time for their system to process? Well, we'll see.

They also say you can push the domains into any Enom account, but I don't see any option to do that... and then it's strange that they try to get you to pay extra for domain forwarding, but then say that it's included with the domain!

Hi Crusader,

I did. It seems fine, except it would be really hard to manage multiple names. It is obviously geared towards their own customers rather than domain resellers!

Anyway, here's a snapshot of their administrative interface...

I talked to them thru the live chat and it looks like you can transfer the domains to other registrars but the salesperson seemed a bit confused, but he said that no they do not have the capability of transferring to another eNom account, don't quote me on it, maybe the representative doesn't know (which happened quite often with me), so give them a call or something.

cybernym, how long did you have to wait till you could see your info ? I regged a name about 12 hours ago, still showing up as free to be regged. No whois info is listed in my account.
