Why? that is what it is the country code for, for a journalist to describe it as meaning "television" would be very amateurish.

That was really cheap for Autoshow.tv

I have to agree. Think how the .tv growth can be perceived by the old .com investing family and from the entities which lives from it ... :) The 'commercially incorrect' .tv ? You are not serious who would bet on it ? Lol the only problem is that this bloody expensive extension is just working pretty well against all odds, just because for the real world 'TV' is TV.
BUT I assume the DN Journal editor is right : .tv is Tuvalu country code, like .us is a country code too and must be highlighted as such. I just remember when the .us was listed in the 'us DNjournal' as part of the "new TLDS" I mean along with .Info,.Biz,..., lol ! Without quoting difference of meaning between .tv and .us, the big one is that .tv is open to the rest of the world, .us is limited to us entities.
Just one more thing, it is quite recent and deserves to be highlighted, I notice more and more .TV names listed in the DNjournal "Individual Domains for Sale" section. Another clue...

CONGRATS to the .tv sellers. Good news !

I somewhat agree. While technically dotTV will always be a ccTLD, for all intents and purposes dotTV is better positioned alongside the "global contenders" than being grouped with other ccTLDs.

Thank you Equity. The sale isn't complete so far.
I have chosen to let it go for several reasons. Although I could have kept and renewed it for years waiting it goes for the appropriate amount, I think it is good to release it and give the name a better future than just to keep it frozen on a parking page. The second reason is I fully consider that investing in this extension isn't just a bet on one name, each sale contributes to the promotion of the extension, I think it was worth 'losing' money on this one but in a way invest in a promo for the rest of my .tv portfolio. One could consider that this name is worth the sale price, and the cheap deal does not assert the value of the name and extension, yes I would tend to agree on the principle, but life is action, deals and transactions, comments and discussions, such a name needs those elements to get value, the young .tv extension does need market references, high and low, to make its own history and progress.

I also agree. Every time a .tv name sells, it make all out portfolios worth that much more. I just picked up 20 premiums yesterday because I believe it is headed only up.

Amateurs.TV sold today on another site for $1700. I think it was standard reg fee sale....and now we hear Get.TV sold today - things are heading up definately...I have now received three offers for Education.TV and one offer for IT.TV today...well above what me & Ammeraetto paid for IT, but well below the figure we would sell it for - but keep em coming!!

Very nice to know that education.tv and IT.Tv are getting offers. They are deserving names for that matter.
