Just picked up:
Moving Van Rental /(dot)/ net
MD PHD Programs /(dot)/ com

Both have a couple thousand exact searches and $1-5 CPC bid. Pretty much anything moving related is already taken so I thought this one might be decent.

Your thoughts?

Thanks.

Both of these are horrible. A three word .NET and a random LLLLL equal grace delete ASAP. Contact registrar and plead temporary insanity. You might be entitled to a full refund if they buy your story. Good luck.

I hear what you're saying about the 3 word and all, but just thought you should know MD PHD is not random. It is a highly competitive graduate program offered at relatively few universities around the nation. Hence 1,600 exact searches monthly. I know that's not much, but it's a very specific niche.

Do not grace delete.
I get 33100 exact searches for MovingTruckRental with a great CPC of $8.43!! My only question is do you actually own this one? There is a reasonably developed (although lacking in Adsense) site at that address. I would pay mid $xxx. I could make that back in a year. Don't see why a national moving company ala Uhaul,Budget,Discount etc wouldn't pay low $xxxx if they knew they were bidding against each other.

MDPHD is not as good despite the better extension. Although it is a pretty targeted name, anyone typing that is sure to be "qualified". But no paid ads. But 4400 doctor types looking for good schools every month. Hmmn...I smell money. Finding an enduser will be tough but I say $50 reseller, 5-8 times that for enduser.

Oops, my mistake! It should have been Van not truck. So... Moving Van Rental. Sorry about that, corrected in op.

That changes the game substantially. 3600 exact searches and a lower CPC. Your endusers are the same companies but don't expect more than one or two hundred dollars for this one.

Good luck!

Thanks for your opinions, guys. Will let you know if I ever do sell them. One thing I think is missing from this forum section is follow-up. Meaning, if someone does sell a name that they had asked to be appraised, it would be nice if they post the price they sold it for so that we can all see how close the appraisals were and get a better sense for how much these domains are really worth.

As promised, here is the result:

Moving Van Rental - $250 to end user.

Buyer had agreed to $300 via email and then found my auction with a $250 BIN. I had taken it off Sedo but forgot to take it off TDNAM.

Lesson learned: It's all about finding the right end-user. Even when domainers think there is no value in a domain, the right end user might see value in it. It also helps to know the industry well. I have good familiarity with the moving industry and knew that this would be worth something to someone.

Thanks for the posting the price. Are you glad you did not grace delete?:$::D

Lol definitely glad I didn't grace delete but kinda mad at myself for forgetting to take the domain off TDNAM. That lost me $50, which was 15% of the sale price. Could have easily been avoided. But oh well, newbie mistake, right?

BTW, for what it's worth, it looks like your appraisal turned out to be fairly accurate. You said it would be worth one or two hundred dollars to an end user and you were just a little bit low in this case but it was still a realistic appraisal.

There are dual degree programs as in your name. These are really for medical research scientest and those that teach at medical research universities.

MDPHDPROGRAM.COM is available! (no S)

True, but "md phd programs" gets almost 3 times as many searches as "md phd program" which is why I chose the plural.

In retrospect, this was not a good reg and I see that now after gaining a bit more experience. I don't know where I'd find an end-user for this. I doubt any research university is going to want it. On the other hand, who knows.

Right a university will just talk about their md phd program on their .edu This is a name you buy only if your passionate about building a site on it.

Both names are in the range of $0 to reg fee.

Your best bet is to mini-site it and plan to drop next year unless it pays for itself.
Good luck!

Thanks.

BTW it's fun to see who didn't read any of the posts in this thread, telling me it's $0 when I've already stated that I sold it for $xxx.
