The registrations are 2~4 years each.

They says "毛都不剩一根。"

Which in english means, not even a feather is left.

LOL !!!

I mean registering so many of domains when many of these domains wont even see a site coming any time soon is marvelous.

Wow. That's an interesting development.
And on top of that, .cc registration cost is $13/year!

This is a great news for all Chinese premium 4L.net investors. :)

I don't understand chinese domainers' strategy. I think they want to make Chinese premium LLLL. com and. net even more valuable doing this...

This is fascinating!

These domain names each cost $19.99 per year at GoDaddy.

That is $3,198,400+ invested into .cc domains.

$3.2 million dollars. Whoa!

Edit: The cost is $11.99 per domain per year with GoDaddy's Discount Domain Club pricing. That's still about 2 million dollars.

$12.40 at NameBright. I thought they were also about $13 at DCC too. Or was that just a promo?

The thing is: we don't know how many were already registered before this one entity registered all that was left. So it's not that this one entity invested ~$2mm.. In the case of .net, there were 30,000 left when they all got swooped up in late July. I would've assumed there were more .cc left than there were .net, but I'm not too familiar with the extent of .cc use in China, other than knowing that they like it.

Words may contain vowels, but they don't begin with them.

Then why four character domain with vowel has 10 times less value ?? :-,

Likely because it isn't a word. If it's an actual Chinese/English/any language word, it can be worth more.

.cc and any prefix domain names are huge because it's merely pressing "c c" with the same finger twice! Registering domain names that end with c c will allow your customer to easily remember it...remember, brandable also means memorable.
