123-Reg Gone Under ???

Hi;

I have about 50 .co.uk domains with 123-reg, about 2 weeks ago, I was waiting for a domain to drop and snapped it up as soon as it did.

123-Reg charged my credit cards and send me an invoice, but the domain did not show in my control panel and a whois proved that it was un-registered.

I did not want to loose it so I registered and paid again and was again sent an invoice and my credit card was debited, but the domain was still not in my name.

So, since them, I have sent 4 emails and received automated replies saying that someone will contact me, but of course no one has.

So I call their support hotline, which of course has a pre-recorded message saying they are busy and that I will have to wait 25 minutes to talk to someone. I have no doubt that when I get to 24 minutes, the line will be mysteriously cut and I will have to call again.

So is 123-reg actually still in business ?? - or are they simply collecting payments but not processing anything ??

I would be interested to hear from anyone that has sucessfully processed a transaction with 123-reg iin the last couple of weeks and actually received the services they paid for ??

I have got to find a alternative, who is a reputable UK registrar that I can transfer all my domain names to ?? - I gess the next step would be to complain to Nominet ?!

Cheers

It's nothing new. My only experience with 123-reg was similar, I tried to register a .co.uk domain, I paid with my credit card and it shows up in my account but was never registered. Support never responded to my message. I registered elsewhere.
IMO 123-reg is the British registerfly: cheap but buggy, unresponsive and unreliable.
I did not bother to charge back the £5 or so but feel free to do so...
I used freeparking in the past for .co.uk, they are not bad but now I would try Dynadot where I have a lot of .com domains too.
