11/11 server status

As I type this, our server is subject of a high powered DOS attack. Dealing with it best we can, but there may be some downtime today.

One of my hosting accounts was suspended earlier this week (And now reinstated) because of attacks ...... I'd assume it's one of the Jerks in "Account Closed" .....

View apache logs, scan the IPs that DDOS in the banned member list :D

There won't be any IP matches. Appears to be a zombie DOS attack. Hundreds of different computers all with different IP ranges hitting us repeatedly. It's going on 4+ hours now.

The server seems to be fine now. It was giving a busy message for the majority of this morning though.

I hope it's over.

Attack is still going on now. I'm not sure if it's slowed down, but we seem to be handling it better.

I did write some new code for our site today that will give registered members priority over guests when the server is too busy. This should eliminate most or all of the "server busy" messages you'd normally get, as long as you stay logged in.

I hate DOS attacks, and it just makes it worse when you cannot trace who is doing it.

The script is working -RJ- :tu: I switched to a different computer that I've never used here before yesterday evening , And it wouldn't let me get to the Login (While server was busy) - Though when I went back to my old computer I was still logged in
