Are free pushes permitted?

I haven't done any actual netfirms pushes myself yet, but I've played around with the process and it can be done. They are free pushes.

It takes a bit of extra work than godaddy with manually updating the whois info. You also have to remember to take out your billing info before sending your domain.

Basically you end up pushing your domain to a newly created account and then giving the buyer the password to access that new account.

Netfirms delete all domain without inform, notice and warning.

Email netfirms customer service and ask why, then post back here and let us know the answer. I have had no problems with them at all.

Hi,

The deletion of domains is due to not providing credit card verification.

Don't use customer service unless you have too, just hit up one of the guys on the live sales chat. You get more sense outta them. :S

Yeah. Who would have thought.... a company that wants confirmation of a credit card. Perhaps if everyone didn't scam so much with paypal this wouldn't be an issue...

You can hardly blame them.

And with regards to the deletion. You got an email saying you had TWO days to contact them. It's your issue if you didn't respond. Check your SPAM folder. I can be almost 100% sure you got it.

This is a proper company. They're not GoDaddy ease but then they are really selling hosting not domains... so it's hardly surprising.:hearts:

Which email or method was used to submit credit card information, if Paypal was the method of payment. I checked all the emails, but none mentioned about submitting cc information. Either that or I might have overlooked.

If you pay with paypal, you don't submit credit card information, but, you must have a verified paypal account (a credit card connected to your paypal account).

So, if you have a verified Paypal account, won't your domain(s) get deleted?

one of my .org that i paid 3.99$ was just deleted
when i contacted them they said that they had sent me a mail
but i didn't receive ny
nor in inbox nor in spam although i never received a confirmation on ny of my domains b4

i never had such a problem with other registrars
i think ill be thinking if i should buy more domains with them even if the offer exists! cause if i face this problems again then it would be a trouble for me again
good that i was able to register it again and no one took it meanwhile

[I have a verified paypal with 2 cards on it]

I monitor each an every mail, Either its in Junk Mail or Inbox. There was no warning mail so i can fix it up, Using Verified PayPal with Credit Card, Still they deleted.

Apart from that, I would go for GoDaddy rather than NetFirms, Yes I went bit crazy for something Cheap & Reliable, But not worth it, Just wastage, 90% Of people who used DOLLARDOMAIN got that domains deleted, Not everyone can ignore mails.

Plus even such act have stamped a bad reputation to them.

If they want CC verification it appears on the front page of the control panel. I sent them a blacked out copy of my dad's driver's license just showing mugshot and name and that was enough to clear it.

I asked the guy on live chat why billing is so useless and he said it's because they've been flooded with this special.

Not most. Did you or any of your friends call the number to "confirm" the order?

It was a 1-800 number in your control panel.
It was in the e-mail.

If you called. They activated.

Perhaps, and I'm not saying this as a fact, the issue is a failure to follow basic instructions.

The deal was AWESOME. Most people took advantage of it and reported no issues. People that had issues complain here..

"Sometimes our billing department requires manual verification of orders depending on a number of criteria. If you received that email please be sure to contact our billing department to sort it out otherwise the domain may be canceled.... "

Deal ended because of the slickdealer phenomenon... i.e. too many people.. too many domains...

Now people are complaining that $3.99 is TOO MUCH money.... They should be FREE!!

Got my name deleted also.

I also got my refund so I'm Ok with it.

I saw this thread and decided to try Netfirms. For a buck you couldn't beat it.

After registering one name, I also got the email asking me to verify my credit info by calling a phone number. I thought that was really strange as I have used my credit card for tons of purchases online, and have never been asked to verify it by calling a phone number.

I thought that the whole transaction might have been a scam, so I just ignored the email. Oh well, it was a goofy name I registered anyway.

I feel bad for the folks that registered a lot of names and lost them all.

Lesson learned........................

Edit. I just checked the email from Netfirms again and saw that they only wanted you to call to confirm. Nothing to do with credit info (my mistake). Still seemed odd though, and that was why I probably ignored the email.

Sorry for the mistake.
