If you decide to transfer the domain prior to the end of your first year, there will be a US$20 domain transfer fee to transfer the domain as promotional prices do not include domain transfer services.

That's a double WTF. So you basically paid $21 USD for this promo. And come to think that almost all us will transfer out before the end of the first year. I mean who would transfer a domain just 1 day before expiry when it takes 5-7 days to transfer out?

This is against ICANN policy IMO. You can transfer the domain after 60 days of the registration date.

I went through a fake registration but stopped short of completing the sign up.

No where did I see any notice that a $20 fee will be imposed if transferring out before 1 year.

The actual registration process is a nightmare as you have to click the NO button on so many
offerings.

It's a much worse reg process than GoDaddy.

It doesn't seem there was "fine print" about this $20 transfer fee.

He said Customer Service told him this in response to a query.

it's likely a nightmare for you.

I think the reason many people believe they got screwed with the Yahoo 1-dollar promos, is because they didn't follow Yahoo's instruction that you CANCEL the "plan" associated with the domain you purchased. People who forgot to cancel the "plan" got billed with the 35-dollar monstrosity price for renewal of the domain (evenif the domain was already transferred out).

Had tried buying hosting here and had used a vcc, as i use only that for online payments or paypal.
My order never got approved despite contacting support so many times & they didnt even refund me.

Terrible company. Don't even try using them.

They just want to grab some customers without telling all the info. Beware of them, same for netfirms. There are many hidden terms.
