Wait until these people find out that there are tech companies that raised over 15 million and never built anything. Or that someone already gave an app developer 500k and they still have nothing to show for it.
People new to domaining and development need to know this:
When a person buys a domain for a high price its rarely to redirect to an existing site or to build a 5 page website with some information about their dog. It's usually being purchased because they have a major idea that will require development.
For every one web project that you see developed, there are probably hundreds that have been in development for many years, many developers already came and went, owner lost interest, developers were incompetent, bugs, owner can't make up their mind if the logo should be grey or more blue, he things grey is best, his wife things blue but his brother that never did anything in life says that everyone he talks to says it should be pink like a flamingo.
In real estate you have people buying land all the time for amounts way above the going price. Then it sits for many years because the owner can't decide what to do or needs a lot more money to develop than he though.
The other thing people must know is that amounts of money spent is all relevant to the person buying something. Do you know there are people that purchase condos in NY, London, CA for 10+ million and show up there maybe for two weeks a year?
Do you know that someone purchased a home for 320 million and never showed up since? Was that a fake sale? Who would do that? Well, the crown prince of SA

As domainers we must stop thinking the whole world is a bunch of peasants and cheap fools. The fact that you can't get most domainers to pay $0.0001 to access data that will save them a lot of time, does not mean the whole world operates like this.
You have people becoming incredibly wealthy very fast now, 100k to them is like 10 dollars to you. If you price your (quality) names for peasants you will remain a peasant.
Do you know there are hotels that are booked up that charge 3k a night? Do you know some people fly on private Jets from NY to London once a month and spend 70k each time?
Price your quality domains for the wealthy companies / people and wait. There are many of them out there, and obviously if you list things at 10k you will not sell it for 100k.
There are entire industries that cater to people with a lot of money. Imagine if they all had domainer brains and thought that nobody would spend 5k on a bottle of champagne to gain access to a VIP area or 40k a night to stay in a "presidential" suit. Imagine if the art world thought nobody would spend more than 500 on a painting, when in fact there are bidding wars going on for 50 million dollars paintings all the time.
The current mindset I see many here have is nothing but poison to your wealth. If you have the goods have the patience and price your name for the people that money is not an issue, not for the people that will spend a week trying to find a domain registration coupon code.
