Domain name search

Today, we introduce our new favorite quick lookup tool: domain search! It is (or will be) everything you need in one place. It's the coolest domain tool we've ever used, and we're beyond excited to keep adding more features to it.

Try it out. You can't miss it, and potential buyers can't miss it, either. ๐Ÿ˜

Log in to your NamePros account to access domainer-only information, such as domain creation dates, expiry dates, and registrar details.

How does it work?

The search box is always readily accessible to you everywhere on NamePros, from the top of the page to the bottom. (Its position is adjustable in settings.)

On every page, you can immediately tap into the focused lookup mode and start typing.

Research a domain owner, check the domain's availability, and even see how much it sold for!

All verified for-sale domains in your NamePros Parking account are eligible to appear as suggestions in our domain search, regardless of whether you use our landing pages. Simply list and verify your domains, and they will appear as relevant domain suggestions. Add, update, hide, or remove your prices anytime.
  • Pro Tip: You can see how many offers/sales you get from our distribution network using the new "Source" field inside inquiry emails and on our website. Visits from our network can be seen in Google Analytics (or a similar service) by looking at the utm_source parameter.

Why did we build this?

Our goal is to increase your domain sales with free visibility from our distribution network and partners. NamePros has the largest source of domain-related content available, and that drives a lot of new people to us daily. New visitors account for the vast majority of our traffic. In fact...

Many, many millions of end users visit NamePros every year from search engines, AI answers, etc. Each end user is a potential buyer, and your domains can now appear in front of them for free!

Domain search joins our distribution network, alongside dynamic ads and external website partners, such as ExpiredDomains.net, with many more to come.

We are creating the ultimate domain lookup tool, allowing investors and researchers to quickly and easily see everything they need from a single search.

Stay tuned for updates!

Your turn

Tell us what you think! First impressions? What would you like it to do? What would make it most useful?

We want to hear from you. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Happy April!

P.S. Do you see one of your domains in the search box? There are awesome domains using NamePros Landers!

P.P.S. You can hide domain search or turn off its animation in account settings.

P.P.P.S. You can opt out of this distribution channel, but our entire partner network is completely free, growing, and shows your domains to more potential buyers.

How does this decide what site to link to in the Add to Cart button? I found it took me to Name.com which offered the domains at 15% more than they are listed for at Afternic, which in turn is at least 10% more than they are listed for at Atom.

This is a cool feature, although since it was implemented I am a little frustrated. Whenever I click an email notification to show me a new post in a thread, the first couple of lines of the post are hidden as a result of the top menu essentially being pushed down the page further. I have to scroll back up a touch to see the whole post. I realise this can be rectified by turning off the search bar (or switching it to Standard mode) in the Appearance settings, but it would be nice to have the option to leave it on while being able to view the full post without scrolling back up.

Funny enough, this was reported a few days ago and a update to fix it is probably 10 minutes away from going live!

It links to whichever partner's API we use to check availability. In addition to our own API, we currently use two partner APIs to check availability: Name.com and Dynadot.

We don't earn any commission from our partners, so any markup is directly from their website.

This fix should be live now!

โœ… Sales history has been added to domain search!

Try these examples:
  1. Boot.net
  2. Xusk.com
  3. Rocket.com

Let us know what you think. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you to @NameBio for their collaboration!

That is awesome. This is really becoming a great tool.

Fortunately, our tool has brought it to your attention so you can contact Sedo and get it removed before it causes problems for you.
@SellsMan.com, by the way, you can list your domain with us and then the price with us will be shown instead of the price on any other marketplace.

You can list domains with us and still use other landers if you'd like.

We don't do any kind of exclusivity or penalties. Our goal is to help domainers. :)

This is actually a very useful update.

Having a built-in domain search feature directly on the platform can save a lot of time, especially when you are actively browsing or researching names. Instead of switching between registrars or external tools, everything becomes more streamlined in one place.

I think this will be especially helpful for:
- Finding available domains quickly
- Checking ideas while browsing discussions
- Spotting opportunities in real-time

If this feature continues to improve with filters and smarter suggestions, it could become a very powerful tool for both beginners and experienced domain investors.

Nice addition to the platform!

Pros and cons of sharing or not?

Google Analytics, Cloudflare, etc.

They track how many visitors are new users.

For simplicity, we just assume that any returning users are domainers.

Based on that, less than 5% of our user traffic is from domainers.
You guys did a great job with this. The one thing I don't think is a positive is that you said, "less than 5% of our user traffic is from domainers" Is that a good thing? I don't know end users seeing domain investors posting names for sale for $10, $20, $50 that are listed at Afternic of Atom, Sedo, etc... For thousands is a good thing. Do you have protection for the wholesales marketplaces?

Pros and cons of sharing or not?
Sharing is required to access their database of sales history.

You can choose between sharing manually by pressing "View now" or sharing automatically with "Auto-display" enabled, which saves you from having to press "View now" to see it.

It's just for convenience.

If you choose not to view the sales history, then nothing is shared for it.

It's been that way as long as we can remember, so it's a normal part of the industry at this point. There aren't many domainers out there, but there are lots of other people landing on NamePros from search engines (and more recently, from AI chats).

Most end users probably don't go perusing the forums. They read the thread that was of interest to them and then they leave. If they came back after that, they'd be counted as returning users ("domainers") instead of new users.

Our search bar is designed to grab their attention while they're here before they leave. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pros and cons of sharing or not?

It's the same data you would be sharing if you searched on our site directly, we log all searches along with the IP that performed it, for abuse detection and analytics.

Since NamePros is acting as a proxy between you and our search functionality, we asked that they pass along the IP of the searcher if the domain actually has sales records which are being shown to you. Otherwise our logs would just be full of NamePros' IP addresses.

That message and toggle is just NamePros being abundantly cautious about GDPR, even though a "forwarded for" header is an extremely common and compliant practice when one service proxies another.

And this setting will disable the carousel of domain names from flashing in the search bar.

I found it distracting.

We added a new setting on that page to disable only the "typing" animation, so that you can still have other animations/transitions on NamePros but just exclude that one if it annoys you.
