Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

Has anyone else had their Atom traffic go a little nuts?

Lately, my Lander Traffic has been relatively steady, but my Discovery Views have been increasing dramatically. And this morning, for the first time ever, my Discovery Views outpaced my Direct Visits. Wha....

It makes no sense and I can only assume the numbers are off or the AI Bots are abusing the Atom search engine.
Mine's dropped by 80% and flatlined...
wtf

I don't have my NS pointed to Atom, so my discovery views tend to always be higher than direct visits. It's been pretty steady the last few days, but about a week ago I got spikes in discovery views. I wish they would add a 1-day stats option so I can see on a daily basis what domain names might be generating interest

Is that what you're looking for? It seems to work up to and including 90 where anything higher than 90 only produces 90 days.

Here's my Atom traffic over the past 14 days, and the trend is pretty clear. At no time in the past have my Discovery Views ever been anywhere near my Lander Visits (I use Atom NS) and now some days they even exceed them.

I apologise if this has been asked before or is obvious but is there a way to have Plus listings and self brokerage?

I don't believe so, and using Atom brokers for negotiations is a big reason to go Plus.

Via chat with Atom Support, I've just submitted a 30-day advance notice to delist a batch of Premium domains, but the interface is hard to navigate. Where can I check the status of that request? It was discussed recently in this thread.

I've also suggested to @Atom.com that Sellers should be able to just downgrade from Premium to Standard or Plus instead of delisting entirely. Delisting and relisting is inconvenient for Sellers, and it works against Atom as a marketplace, since keeping as many domains as possible on the platform should be the goal. I don't see a technical obstacle to just changing the listing level without removing the domains from the system (Seller portfolio) entirely.

I think this would lead to more users trying Premium listing. I don't have any Premium listings because I can't be bothered with the messing around of upgrading etc. If it were a click of a button to upgrade or downgrade I'd be more likely to dip in and out of premium for months here and there.

I've asked for this numerous times. They almost immediately comply with what they agree with and ignore, often without comment, on what they don't. Since they are active in this thread, and have never mentioned or added this tech - it appears they do not want to make a filter so sellers can easily identify names they are delisting.

It is impossible for sellers to identify which ones are marked for delisting and which are not (yes, I know a little delisting logo appears, but one has to scroll through thousands of names to find those with the logo). No one has time for that and so what occurs is some names get delisted properly, and others I thought were delisted get removed without notice. It's not done on purpose, it is only done because @Atom.com makes the process too cumbersome to do any other way.

I also agree, once a name is delisted, I'd potentially keep it as standard or plus. But since it's removed from the platform automatically I don't bother. If I were Atom, I'd add this option.

a little delisting logo appears
Tell me all about this. I can't find it. 😭

Is there a delay, perhaps? I've submitted the request via chat.

Either way, having to request this through chat is a real hurdle. I can see a "downgrade" option in the menu (in the old interface, lol), but it doesn't seem to work (?) though I'm not entirely sure.

The whole process could be handled much better. If Premium truly delivers value, Atom shouldn't need to worry about too many Sellers wanting to cancel it.

I only wanted to downgrade, not stand trial.

How are sales with Atom these days? I had switched away from them a while back for a couple of reasons** but I'm wondering how things are today.

** 1) things started getting overly complicated, and 2) sales were coming from Afternic, not Atom.

I made a recent sale there, but a lot of my offers still come from Afternic, even though my NS are at Atom.

Unfortunately, their brokers are soooooo slow and I'm starting to wonder if the paywall is worth it to get self-brokerage.

It appears under the name when you search it (in the new interface)

Unfortunately as I mentioned, you cannot see the swath of names you are delisting, you have to recall the ones you are to find them as there is no filter. Plus you can't export them to keep track of them

So really I just happen upon them from time to time. Not sure why @Atom.com is making it so difficult to monitor. Mostly I remove names I am not renewing, although from time to time I also pull a name for alternate reasons.

TBH, if those were your reasons for switching, I don't think anything has changed that wou'd bring you back. Other may disagree though?...

I also started delisting my premium domains and moving nameservers from Atom a few weeks ago - since I've never had a single offer or any indication of a lead that I can find in their interface anywhere, despite having hundreds of relatively premium .com domains listed and many of them locked into Premium, I've seen no evidence of the money they say they spend on remarketing, and no evidence that Premium helps any more than Standard or Plus. I'm still adding new domains there for as long as I can be bothered - I also still have my WLM for now - but all of them go straight to Standard.

With their abysmal record for testing and using sellers as quality testers, I've been convinced for a while they have serious bugs in their conversion path that they just haven't found yet, and will likely never find because they're not user-facing issues that will be discovered for them by sellers.
