Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I'm not sure if the link has moved as I couldn't seem to find Custom DNS in the menu any more (I'm pretty sure it used to be under Settings in the menu on the left?) but luckily I had it bookmarked. @zambarda if you are having the same difficulty finding it, the direct link is here.
Yes, it moved to Marketplace Settings. Great feature, by the way.

@Atom.com I was today years old when I learned you don't support .app in your registrar

Of course you do accept it for premium curation, so that's a mismatch worth correcting imo

@Atom.com
I was looking at your Edge pricing and of all the top extensions, only one has different pricing for transfer vs renewal. .bot
Is this on purpose? It's $1.75 more expensive to transfer in - than it is to renew. Perhaps the transfer in price should match the renewal price?

It was really slow for me last evening, then this morning seems in some sort of frozen state (the site itself seems fine, just doing anything even logging out of an account). It says logged in, but won't actually do anything, even let me log out. My Chrome was recently updated, so I tried clearing recent data and restarting, using Incognito, and even moving to another browser (Opera) but all act the same.

Should your Atom STR include sales that happen on Afternic or Spaceship? I think probably not, it makes you believe you are doing better than you actually are on Atom. On the other hand maybe the domain was discovered on Atom and purchased on Afternic. This could be the other way around also especially with the NS's pointed to Atom and with a price 9% below that on Afternic.

@Atom.com can I request a feature for the Appraisal API.

Currently the only way to check if a domain is instant-eligible is to run an appraisal for it *and then* click the Run Assessment button. I am often finding that this is very slow and cumbersome to check 5-6 domains or more.

Even worse, for those who like to automate a lot of their workflow and already use the Appraisal API in their apps, having to instead manually check each domain defeats a lot of the purpose of using an API to begin with.

Can I suggest a separate API call to check instant eligibility status, or maybe even include it as an additional/optional field in the appraisal call response.

I know those who use the API is probably a small percentage of your total users, but for those that do, this could be a very important feature, and should be very easy for your developers to implement as it would require minimal code.

Thankyou!

Pending Review status for 2 weeks @Atom.com

Sadly, that's been happening a lot lately. This morning, I got a reply to something I submitted three weeks ago, and I have other domains that have been waiting for over two weeks as well. It feels like whenever they're assigned to certain people for review, they put them off for as long as possible. That's why I never submit more than 4 or 5 domains at a time, and I usually wait a few hours before sending more.

No.

STR shouldn't be based on guesswork or conjecture, just use hard data on which marketplace each buyer purchased from.

Can we also add an “Export” or “Saved” option for names that have already been checked?

It’s cumbersome, and should be unnecessary, to recheck names.

For Atom Sellers who keep the Dashboard open for extended periods, the interface eventually ceases to respond. Interaction elements stop functioning, domains are not loading, notifications no longer appear, and the page presents as inactive until a full browser page refresh and captcha revalidation are performed. This pattern has persisted for several days. The underlying security requirement is understood, but the current implementation is operationally disruptive. A more granular trust model for long‑standing, low‑risk users would mitigate unnecessary friction. @Atom.com.

Yeah, it's been very poorly implemented imo. Every 30 minutes cloudflare requires you to revalidate and it will completely break what you are doing. It's not limited to browsing either - I've been getting API errors for several days now with cloudflare challenge responses returned. API calls are meant to be automated, so why is it returning challenges? Sounds like something has been misconfigured....

Thank you for very good observations.

The amount of time wasted reverifying cloudflare captchas on all the sites I use is absurd. Someone has to come up with a better solution

The Dashboard has been effectively unusable for several days now, even after re‑verification. Multiple members have already reported the same issue. @Atom.com, are you actively using the Dashboard yourself? Please try it and see what your Sellers are dealing with.

I actually got "banned" from Atom the other day because of cloudflare. I couldn't see any of my domains, access any page, or contact support about it.

Turned out to just be a cookie issue and I managed to get back in afterwards by clearing them and closing all browser windows.

I could have done without that heart attack though 😅 and this can't be good for casual users who might not even know about cookies etc.

Hi everyone, apologies for the performance issues over the past several days, and thank you for the detailed reports.

We have seen a recent increase in sustained DDoS and scraping/botnet attacks, and we've deliberately tightened our Cloudflare protections in response. During active attack windows, security checks become more aggressive by design, which is why you've been seeing more frequent re-verifications and longer sessions requiring a refresh. This also applies to API traffic, since automated API abuse is a common attack vector, so legitimate API calls may occasionally receive challenge responses during these windows.

One other thing to be aware of: you may notice a dip in traffic and view counts in your Dashboard. We temporarily disable some analytics during attack windows, both to reduce load and to keep bot traffic from polluting your stats, so the numbers shown during these periods may understate your actual visitor activity.

We've mitigated a large portion of this traffic, though attacks like these often come in waves, so some friction may recur while an attack is active. In parallel, we're refining our rules so that logged-in, established sellers see fewer checks than anonymous traffic. We know your time is valuable and we want security to stay out of your way as much as possible.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
