Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

They kinda answer it here:
https://helpdesk.atom.com/en/articl...on-why-does-it-show-my-state-and-country-then

All registrars who provide full privacy use a separate entity for it and Atom doesn't have it. It sucks for people from the poor countries to use such registrar as they are more likely to get discriminated basing on their country.
This specific phenomenon is known as country-of-origin bias (specifically, negative origin bias or country-of-origin discounting).
It happens when a consumer from a wealthy country subconsciously or consciously lowers the "fair value" of a product because it was made in a developing nation. Even if the quality, materials, and labor match Western standards, the buyer believes a seller from a poor country has no right to charge premium prices.
That was interesting. Thanks.

Just a heads-up for Atom sellers: I recently found out that Atom no longer sends email notifications when a domain submitted for Premium Review is not accepted.

I had domains simply disappear from the “Pending” section without any email or clear notice. After contacting support, they confirmed that rejection emails for Premium Review are no longer being sent.

I understand they may want to reduce the volume of rejection emails, but from a seller’s perspective this is not ideal. If you manage a portfolio, you need clear status updates to decide whether to keep, appeal, reprice, rotate, or drop a domain.

At minimum, Atom should provide a clear dashboard notification or review history for each submitted domain.

Has anyone else noticed this? How are you tracking Premium Review outcomes now?

Or at least for bulk submissions send a consolidated report of what was approved or rejected. It seems like they used to do this no?

Don’t you receive the daily Atom notification E-Mail about your successful and unsuccessful Premium submissions?

yes, they still send it. I literally received this one this AM. That is how I track rejections (by comparing it to the day before)

Also, you can filter by rejected for Premium in the dashboard, although sadly you can't properly sort by date (it's been broken since they launched the new dashboard. I reported it but they never fixed)

Use the chat message if it has expired to let them know, or otherwise just switch the domain to Standard. Either way you should notify them about the change.

To have a domain removed from Atom Premium you have to give 30 days notice in writing. After this you can move it anywhere you want. I do not think you can just switch to Standard as the previous mentioned. Template I use below.

Hi,

I would like to give 30 days notice for the removal of the following domains from the Atom Premium Marketplace.

AnotherDomain.com

The Answers to the 2 questions below is NO.

  1. Have there been any offers or inquiries received on this domain within the last 30 days on Atom or outside the Atom platform?
  2. Has this domain sold, or is pending sale outside the Atom platform?

That's a big negative for me. Why I stopped listing premiums with Atom.

According to Atom's help:
-Direct visits shows the natural traffic of the domain
-Platform views shows how many times the domain appeared in Atom's searches/recommendations, etc.

A domain might appear in the searches and recommendations but that doesn't necessarily mean that people are interested to click and visit the lander.

So,
what metric shows how many visits the domain has received from any platform views?

This should be calculated with the direct visits I guess, but it is not enough and it should have it own metric like Godaddy does. Also their repeated visits metric is not accurate, I have a domain that gets a daily new repeated visits with no buying or price request, right now I have 70 repeated visits in less than 3 months and all of them from china.

I just received >100 "increased level of interest" emails. @Atom.com something seems off... highly unlikely yesterday people all over the world came to see all my domains.

Same. Including domains that had only been added a few days ago. Damn, this is going to be fun reverting all of them back to their previous prices. I suggest people export all of them in a spreadsheet for now so the prices can be easily re-imported from a csv file later in case Atom doesn't undo it themselves.

...or simply remove "Automatically Schedule Price Increase" in the marketplace setup.

Whats going on at Atom ? Where are all the sales gone? You have to bring people to your marketplace and convert them into buyers for it to function. You stuffed your ship with over 400k premium domains without the ability to drive traffic to sell them at a rate anywhere near B/E for a massive majority of sellers. Big ticket sales are driving Atom, I think I calculated a few days ago the Average sales price over the last 30 day period was $9600.

You could sense that confidence has been dropping amongst sellers for a while, the wholesale marketplace is dead, nobody wants Atom premium domains wholesale, I see someone offering 12 for $50 on X. Maybe Atom could sense this also, hence the swerve to Atom Edge.

If someone has a different view, it would be great to hear it.

I don't know how long you've been there but on my screen I noticed you popped up on the Leaderboard (STR & Avg Selling Price) at least 3-4 days ago. You're #9. Could that be driving -some- traffic?

We recently began testing a new marketing campaign that led to a noticeable increase in visitor traffic and activity across the platform. As a result, our pricing system detected elevated buyer interest on a larger number of domains than usual, which triggered many of these notifications.

We’re currently refining the logic to look at a broader set of buyer-intent signals so temporary traffic spikes alone don’t overly influence these alerts.

If you’d prefer not to proceed with a scheduled price increase, you can easily cancel it anytime from your dashboard.

Thanks for taking a look at the logic @Atom.com . I'm all for price increases where the name is truly of interest so once the logic is updated I will turn back on the automatic price increase toggle (which I temporarily turned off when these started hitting).

As for this last batch, can you please show me how I can "easily cancel" from the dashboard? I see no way to filter the names to show just them, and as there are hundreds, sifting one at a time would be quite cumbersome.
