Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

Atom writes that with instant premium the name can be listed without using coins, but what if I also want to list it on Afternic,, can I do it without using coins? @Atom

They charge 2 coins per domain to list it on Afternic.

Only 1 coin if you do it then you submit a name for premium approval

Great question! For domains identified as "Instant Premium", no coins are required for the upgrade. Behind the scenes, these domains are treated the same as coin-submitted listings - which means they automatically qualify for Afternic listings as well, provided the other eligibility criteria are met. No additional coins needed.

I've got 3 domains approved for 'instant upgrade' out of 700... Pretty strict selection by AI. :xf.eek:
tighter

This is a good thing, but still not perfect.

owned

So Atom just decided to set all Atom owned domains to $3499...

How is ranking decided? Some of my best names show as "Low Rank" while some that aren't so good are high...

But I was charged 6 coins to list my 3 'Instant Premium' domains on Afternic.

Agreed, been doing this myself. However, I notice that all of the domains that were rejected recently, and are now classed as instant, won't show up in the list. This despite the appraisal tool saying I can add them instantly. So it might only work on domains that were rejected after a certain time period has passed?

A handy link for those who want to see the list directly:

https://www.atom.com/dashboard/domains?status=instant_upgrade

and there's now also an option in one of the drop downs:

It doesn't work properly for my acct. I'm going one by one and adding them. My list via that link shows zero. And yet, I've found over a dozen so far today

I checked my "instant approval" names and they are showing as coin submitted

Maybe yours was just a bug?

They will refund my coins.
''It looks like these coins may have been charged before the system was fully implemented.''

Where can I check them one-by-one?

I had not been submitting domains to Atom for a while but today I resubmitted 80 .Nows and 62 got automatically accepted for premium, are Atom looking more favorably on the ext now?
I changed the nameservers for all my .now domains about 2 days ago, and my dashboard is still showing them as not pointed to Atom.

Have you tried visiting the domains? I've had this issue with other extensions. If I enter the domain into a browser and go to the site, Atom will usually recognize it's now using Atom's nameservers. Not ideal for a lot of domains though.

Someone needs to click on them, so just load the domain in a browser and Atom will change it.

I loaded a bunch of new domains yesterday, and scarily, two of them also had the "preset BIN" (from a prior listing) that others have been highlighting. This is scary, and Atom needs to change this setting to just include Traffic stats, and lose everything else when a domain name is relisted by a different customer.

I found one that had a BIN, multiple logos, tons of descriptions and keywords, and all kinds of other BS settings activated. It took me forever to clean that one up, and I wasn't able to delete a few of the settings, which seem to be hardcoded and can also be replaced, not totally deleted.

Also, I got another couple of domains that still have a Sapphire notation stuck on them, even though they are Standard listings. If they sell, is the Atom system going to try to charge a higher commission even though these are not actually featured on the Sapphire marketplace?

Okay, I'm firmly in the Twilight Zone.

I'm negotiating on Atom and right in the middle of it, an Atom rep starts typing that as this is a WLM transaction and I can do X, Y and Z instead... I never signed up for WLM...

Then a few minutes later I get a Welcome to the Wholesale Marketplace message...

Anyone know what the F is going on here?

I go to the domain appraisal tool, appraise the name, and then click "run assessment". Found about a dozen this way that were instantly approved. None of these appeared in the "Instant Approval" list (which for me is empty). But by going through them one at a time, I find some.

@Atom.com Not sure if this is intentional training (or not). From Darpan's posts it seems to me keyword+ai .com sells well on Atom. The Ai seems to feel this weakens it
