Is Sedo trying to prevent sales?

In addition to showing location of the seller , Sedo seems to be showing appraisal value of domains during negotiations. I see it under "additional info" under "bidding history". I don't see a price, but there might be a price there, and it may be well below our asking price, and buyers may see it during negotiations, or after deciding to buy but before payment.
.........................
Dan is also very bad so far. There are two "sales" and both were unpaid, and will never be paid. Maybe brokers with unshaved face are creating unserious impression. Maybe instead introducing themselves as brokers, they should introduce themselves as international lawyers working for interpol. Then maybe buyers would be scared. And creating invoice before payment is extremely bad idea. Sellers should be totally hidden unless they cheat. Buyers see I have xxxx number of domains, and then they would think, I shouldn't pay xxxxx for them, because then this domainer would be ultra rich if all these domains sell, or they don't sell and I'm the only fool.
............
In short there is no good marketplace.
Should I evaluate Epik as well. One thing I don't like, I place a description, I'm not allowed to type a long description, and my description doesn't appear on the landing page, so landing pages are pure duplicate content, and this is bad for seo. But I will experiment with Epik anyway soon.

I won't comment about pros/cons of showing appraisals. Where possible, I do prefer to Shoot the moon:

As for your specific question to Epik, in the SSL lander designer you can write as long a text as you like:

https://epik.com/support/knowledgebase/enable-a-coming-soon-or-domain-parking-page/

Look under Content & Media for a full WYSIWYG editor.

Thanks, can I upload an image as well? I'm considering adding flags with domains on them. It is possible to create waving flag animated images for free and online.

And one more thing I don't like about Sedo, I can't remove domains I don't own anymore, if they have a bid on them (can't cancel old offers either). Whenever I login I see two offers minimum and not because I'm good at selling. (maybe some of such offers are made to make us do redemption renewal)

use your own landing page
then all that trouble disappears

dan is not giving you buyers
sedo rarely does

I highly doubt epik will

a bad advice stays a bad advice
even when quoted twice

https://namebio.com/blog/dont-shoot-for-the-moon/

or many, many more times

( Shoot the moon )

but of course it will work every time to promote epik over and over

the moon has been shot so often
he might never recover

When I respond to an offer at Sedo, Sedo gives this nonsense error (false alarm):
  • Sorry, we could not save your changes since the other party has changed the course of negotiation! Please note changes and repeat your request!
...........
Another Sedo bug: I can't start negotiation, when the offer is $50.
...........

Both of these bugs may be related to allowing offers below 90. Sedo may be assuming offers below 90 are equivalent to cancelling an existing negotiation (in some (but not every) sense).

.......
Why show sellers' location, and indirectly say DON'T BUY.

All the evidence suggests that Sedo doesn't want to waste its valuable time, by selling its users' domains.

title is bit misleding.. as we all know.. there is no such thing as any marketplzce which is knowingly preventing sales.. there could be just some markets which do better or worse job at making sales.. or helping thme happen etc.. so yeah this title came out bit funny lol :)
its all good though

either way, its now a very common topic and basically a well known fasct among many/most domainers on np that be it dan.com or epik or few others markets, it is basically imposible for buyers to find our names there... things get of course logically bit better if we redirect our landers to those places.. but even then.. at least for me, dan.com is not doing well... (have not tried epik landers yet).. i have nothing but praises about epik and dan.com for escrowing a prenegotiated deal (add lead function on dan.com)... and a solid completion ratio there! otherwise, i begin to doubt and question, as do most/many the usefulness and purpose of even asdding our names to such marketplaces, since nothing ever gets found there directly..
how to remedy it? not sure... more exposure.. more advetristing.. to attract more people to look for names there.. but seems both epik and dan.com refuse to do a simple thing like show their sales on namebio... its not everything.. wouldn't solve all problems.. but it'd be a start.

now all this being said... i have most my sales from gd auctions.. then a few on sedo... and all my gd sales come from people finding my names direct on gd market.. no lander redirects..

I know gd does not compare to others.. exposure wise etc.. but maybe other markets should try their best to have people find our names on their markets... its clearly doable.. and gd auctions is living proof of it no?

Something really wrong with your cookies and internal redirects...

Regarding sales...
My last sale on Sedo was 10 months ago...
Looks that only .com and few popular ccTLDs are selling there...
Total waste of time with all other TLDs.

In my eperience all types of tlds can sell at Sedo.

But most bids don't get second bids, even if counteroffers are totally reasonable.
and half of sales don't get paid.
This makes me think, we are not selling to endusers.
I think some flippers with insider info tries to buy domains in 20-500 range,
and simultaneously sell for 4-5 figures elsewhere.

No enduser would visit Sedo to buy domains, they do their search at their own registrar.
And that registrar would say: domain not available but we can get it for you.
Then we get lowballs at Sedo.

This explains why buy now works better. Also when the sale type is buy now only,
then the buyer doesn't have time to discriminate or give a second thought to their purchase.

But if we add buy now prices, it would
be very time consuming to erase them. And we may have to sell domains in pending delete periood or
pay penalty.

..
update: one small sale at dan.

I'm talking about BIN domains which are parked there... I don't use MakeOffer mode on Sedo.
No sales for me since June'2019.

@Sedo

Why don't you show .XYZ domains in search? If someone types in a keyword you are just showing some random extensions although there was a .xyz listing in the sedo account. Don't you think you are potentially losing some sales? Or you people are meant for cctld's.

Ex: Avalanche.xyz Keyword Avalanche

Watch.xyz Keyword Watch

For guests as well.
Still not fixed... Almost whole 2020 year this issue...
You can fix this issue in two ways.
1. Access sedo through a incognito window on chrome.
2. Open devtools of chrome using right click => inspect element on the page. Now click on clear storage => clear site data. Also right click on https:/sedo.com under Cookies menu and click clear.
Now you can load sedo.com in the browser.

Jurgen, do you experience this visting own domains if logged-in? Or any sedo-parked domains?

It usually happens when I go to main @Sedo after I visited some of my domains on their new sales landers...
And even without authorization.

Cookies clearance works as temporary solution until next ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS...
