Yes they do, but most (or all) other registrars have shown a willingness to take action against hateful domains or sites.
You may be interested in this Joe. There are several resources being published shortly, so we can finally put this myth to bed. You seem to be sincere in wanting to learn more though, so I am happy to oblige.
As per our prior share, we had already received notice "off the record" that PayPal had deplatformed Epik, because the SPLC wanted people to believe we were the registrar for many of the top organizations on their hate watch list. In fact, PayPal's relationship with the SPLC as a guiding force has been well documented, as it has been the significant theme of their CEO Dan Schulman's interviews, comments, and focus points since March. You may not be aware of this, but the SPLC piece originally crafted against Epik and Rob Monster, was a significant anchor for Wikipedia - for a page literally setup and maintained by one of their own staff members. Think about that! It was then used to guide the construction of dozens of other high level pieces, to formulate the most damaging profile of Epik anyone could imagine. Our CEO though has walked through this fire for 24 months, focused every day on lifting those up in front of him, without ever backing down from those who serve to destroy the lives of others.
In an attempt to rectify this, I reached out to an SPLC surrogate, who was kind enough to provide me with a map of the top organizations who they considered to be on their list of leading hate groups. My expectation is that the list will be published before the end of today. The message that came with it, was literally an encouragement to do everything we could to ban, restrict, limit, harm, or reduce everyone listed upon it, and to win "at all costs". The update I received last night, indicated great and massive fear that incriminating videos related to a political candidate were soon to surface. They are terrified of the hosting companies and resilient service providers who may decide to not censor it from the public.
I would ask you to keep in mind that more than 1500 attack pieces against Epik have been manufactured, labeling us as a safe haven for hate since 2018. The truth though, is that of the 354 websites and organizations listed on the SPLC hit list for termination and service disruption, GoDaddy has 64 of them, Public Internet Registry (PIR) has a whopping 138, Network Solutions has 14, Tucows has 16, Namecheap has 12, and Dreamhost has 11. GoDaddy has Breitbart.com, and many other organizations designated as "far right" in the past, as well as dozens of companies that even sell Nazi merchandise to this very day. Cloudflare provides support and protection to 72 of the worst of them, and GoDaddy actively hosts 54 - on top of the many additional domains for which they provide registrar services. Plus most collect money and some form of premium for direct privacy services to protect their valued customers from the heat.
The irony here is pretty simple - the SPLC designated Epik as a hate group because of its "choice and propensity to offer registrar services to far right organizations". Every single PayPal article generated over the last three days has referenced it repeatedly. But of the 354 organizations contained within the SPLC list, Epik has the least of any major registrar. It only took five singular entries to earn the designation of King of all Online Hate. The greater irony: we are also on that list, because of the manufactured idea that we are the registrar for hate sites, and so the cycle continues.
Yet no other registrar in the world can be found in its ranks.
What do you think it has been like for Rob Monster, as even his neighbors have had propaganda stuffed in their mailboxes stating that he is the protector of all Nazis in America? Some of the groups that GoDaddy and others still protect, are far beyond more abhorrent and horrific than anything I've ever witnessed at Epik. I also still can't find the article anywhere that condemns Network Solutions (or others) for maintaining support to this very day for the kkk.com.
In terms of motivation, it is very simple. They are positioning GoDaddy as a single source monopoly, and Epik is a threat due to our innovation and our commitment to our amazing customers. Many of the alternative registrars in the marketplace are simply strategic proxies, positioned in a timeline for eventual absorption, as these individuals truly think long term in their processes. You can reduce this to conspiracy theories and tin hat concepts all you like, but the numbers don't lie. Neither does the published rationale and logic of SPLC, Google, Wikimedia, Wikipedia, and others, for why they have decided that Epik doesn't make the grade. This again is perpetual false accusations of racism, to fulfill a political and capitalistic game plan. They are so arrogant in their execution, they can literally prop up a domain name like officialproudboys.com with hate, transfer it to Epik on October 21st, and then use it as a headline on October 23rd to attack us. You should all consider that fact alone, when reading the anti-Epik rants here.
I wouldn't trade the 70 pages of positive reviews and testimonials our customers have past submitted for any other position or company in this industry. We get more love, more likes, more positive feedback, and more satisfied customers in a week, than behemoths like GoDaddy can record in a year. It is an honor to serve our customers each and every day. I would though strongly encourage those who want to stand on their pedestals, and continue to denounce our ethics and integrity for personal gain, to find a better use of their time.
This is what unchecked monopoly abuse looks like. Without Epik, it only gets worse from here.
