There is a domain buyer posting on namepros...

When I sent him list of domains...he replied back with interest but subject to buying appraisal from his given link website before he buys the domain

This seems doubtful and fake. ..dont pay anything for appraisals since this seems doubtful.

BEWARE ..a advice from a fellow domainer.

Are you guys sure this is the same johnnie018 ?
I've seen he's negative posts before and they were perfect English. Reading the latest post from this possible fake Johnnie018 the English and grammar seem different from the one before. Just asking the question guys

Btw I'm not defending either of them but I don't think this is the original Johnnie018

when a buyer of real estate wants a home appraisal. Does the seller pay for home appraisal?

I was thinking about this earlier. It's really a stupid scam. But it gets people because the scammer acts like they are representing a big baller. So a desperate soul, new comer may spend $99 for a fake appraisal in the hopes of getting 10K for their handreg that they couldn't sell for peanuts on namepros.

Unfortunatelly, there is not much I can do, if some anonymous account is doing what this account is doing.

All what I can say is that I have 0 connection to any activity they are doing, and it is very annoying.

I hope people will not connect this to me, at least the majority of people who knows how I operate and think.

It is certainly harming my reputation, mainly among new members who did not interect with me before, so they do not know me.. It seems that someone probably can not stomach that I do paid appraisals of new gTLDs on my website.

I have reported simmilar things to mods last time something similar happened, but this is all I can do, unfortunatelly.

Thanks for understanding :)

No need for the sarcastic "use your brain" comment.

My advice would be to use your brain before ordering an
appraisel from self-appointed experts without any proven sales success

true to use the brains but its very frustrating that domainers are trying to sell domains and there are people posting scams and fake buy requests...apart from the appraisal scam I only hope the buyer request section is more monitored to filter out the time wasters who just get a thrill posting big budget buy requests but are willing to pay not more than usd 20 to 50 for single word or EMD domains...

On first thought, lolwarrior can't be that stupid to scam with his own website.
On second thought, johnnie's reply in this threads seems suspect and unnatural (and obviously bullshit).

Furthemore, johnnie made a thread shilling ngTLDs:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/new-tld-domains-wanted.1134017/
This is clearly a shill thread. Up to $5000 for a two-word ngTLD? Please.

Lolwarrior, coincidentally, specializes in ngTLDs.

This is no proof and forgive me if I am wrong, but this seems highly suspect. Why would anyone appraisal scam with another person's service? The whole point of the scam is to snatch the money through the service.

Once again, I am not connected to this account. And remarks like yours are just damaging my business.

I can sell appraisals on my website. and I do tons of free, in-depth appraisals as well here.

I am not responsible for some anonymous account here, who consistently stronly dislikes new gTLDs (check history of this account), and is using my brand and marketplace in his messages totally without my permission. It seems like that to some of you it then seems that I do something shady, but all I can do is to report that to mods, which I did.

Or do you have some realistic ideas / advices how to prove that I am not connected to this account?
I am very curious, indeed :)

I don´t think you are connected in any way with johnnie018
and yes you can sell appraisels as you like on you site, just like I can think they are on the edge of a scam as long as you refuse to reveal some of your sales instead of just claiming you are very successful in selling new tlds

Hello,

@johnnie018's account was restricted after an investigation confirmed unethical business practices.

Thanks for letting us know so we could look more into it.

Well look at this thread, https://www.namepros.com/threads/pull-up-your-sleeves-you-new-gs.1126997/page-8

It almost seems like Johnnie is now a different person he was anti new gtld so I did not think he connected to you. His posts now seem different, there is a different ESL syntax

Hello,

The members account was restricted after an investigation confirmed unethical business practices.

Thanks for letting us know so we could look more into it.

Eric has anything changed with that account? Read the members first posts and now the recent posts, the first seem like native English speaker, lately not so much, feels like a different person.

This member does not show restricted.

This member does not show restricted.
Since the event that took place was in direct messages, the members receiving and sending of messages was restricted, which does not show in the postbit like a marketplace restriction does.

However, if we should uncover anything else, it may lead to such an added restriction.

I hope that helps explain better.

Well he was already restricted and it showed on his profile when he started that request thread but his status changed to new member on his profile after some time.

One of the members restrictions expired prior to the new restrictions being applied.

Keep in mind, most (not all) infractions and restrictions have expiration dates.

Update: Further investigation revealed that the member went around the messaging restrictions by using eMail for contact, which effected 1 member, that we know of.

At this time a new marketplace restriction has been added for security reasons.
