Good morning!

NamePros is working on a lot of new and exciting features, and many of them are thanks to member suggestions in our Comments and Feedback section.

We'd love to hear even more! What else would you like us to add for you?

All suggestions are welcome, from small and simple changes to big and complex features!

Please post below, or submit your suggestions privately.

Let us know what you'd like us to build!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Ever considered implementing the Live Update indicator add on by Chris D?
Thanks for sharing. We've added the faster polling ourselves, but we don't update the title or favicon yet, which has been suggested a couple times. We'll likely add it eventually. :)

Add monthly / weekly Namepros marketplace sales report that is ongoing throughout the year.
Based on anonymous sales reporting or ?
Avg sales $ / volume, top / low, etc.

Would give a good idea of the health of the reseller market at least. Easy to implement.
Lets look at the numbers here.
We've been working on this (trying to partner with sales history companies, developers, etc.), but everyone so far thinks the task is too difficult. We may have to do it ourselves in the future.

how about creating seperate forum .. where people create posts about offers they receive for a domain.. with or without poll (take or leave).. but preferably with compulsory poll (just take or leave options).. and discuss the name if they want with others.. in each post.. I think this can be useful not only for people who are sellers of those names.. to get opinions.. etc.. but also to all others who try to valuate domains.. get ideas.. etc.. win win situation i think

a bit alogn the lines of my post here .. but have a seperate forum for it..

https://www.namepros.com/threads/now-capital-offer-take-or-leave.1087287/

either in the FREEE RESSOURCES section.. or under DISCUISSION. latter being better imo.

what u think @NamePros

I found this post useful to me.. and I am sure others did too!

Has there ever been an ask for putting a limit on the amount of Likes/Thanks (mainly Likes) that can be given out in a rolling period?

I don't know about others but it gets kind of annoying when the same group of people seem to Like every post made in a thread (especially in Introduction topics) just for the sake of it. Maybe it's a cultural thing, I don't know... but if there was a limit on the amount that could be given out then this would make people more likely to actually use them the way they are meant to be. Especially when they are used in the calculating of member criteria.

It's likely this has been suggested, but I don't have time to read the previous 9 pages, and a search didn't turn up anything.

What would really be revolutionary would be to have the ability to Hide specific threads you don't care to see a hundred times. This would be particularly relevant in the marketplace - and I believe it would even boost sales, as buyers would be more inclined to check in frequently for new deals if they don't have to wade through pages full of sales they've already seen and aren't interested in. As anyone who shops there frequently knows, it's a real chore to keep tabs on the actual NEW sales threads, when piled up among the old threads.

If you see something you like, simply watch the thread, or do nothing. If you don't see anything interesting, hide it. This would make it a much more pleasant experience for buyers, and sellers can still bump the thread to their hearts content for those who don't care enough to hide it.

Sellers could argue that it cuts their exposure, but I think it's very fair for uninterested viewers to be able to hide it without seeing it every day for the next 6 months. In exchange, I really do think buyer activity would increase. A lot of buyers are too busy to constantly be seeing the same offers over and over and over again, and would check the marketplace more frequently if they know that they can get right to the good stuff.

Win-win, right?

We plan to do this in the near future:
Thanks for sharing. :)

In the e-mail notifications (and possibly the notifications/alerts), can we get a mention of the forum/sub-forum that the thread was posted in? For new threads perhaps...

To help domain name sellers, I would suggest this feature:

So, perhaps everyone knows that you can add upto 10 tags to your post. It would be great of you could see how popular these specific tags are, example how many searches that particular tag get's or how many times that tag is used. With this way, people has easy way to pick best tags for their posts and perhaps find their targeted audience.

Thanks
Sami

I have a couple questions:
  • First of all, is there some kind of bugtrack to have an overview of requests (dupe requests are bound to be made) ?
  • In the past, in the former version of the forum (Vbulletin), you got a warning when trying to bump an old thread (no posts made for 180 days). Sometimes newbies (or absent-minded people) reawaken 10-year old threads for no good reason.
  • Also, with Vbulletin you could download your PMs to a text file. The feature doesn't seem to exist nowadays.

It's easy to miss, but it should be there. If you're positive that it's missing, please forward the email to [email redacted] along with a message explaining what is missing.

Thanks.

Excellent ideas!

Currently, you can determine popularity of the most popular tags using the tag cloud (bigger text means more popular) on this page:
Each tag also indicates how many times that tag has been used (max. of 200) and how many visits there have been to that tag. Example:
We will certainly look into expanding the functionality and statistics available for tags.

First of all, is there some kind of bugtrack to have an overview of requests (dupe requests are bound to be made) ?
We do this internally. When the same suggestion is made, we add any new elements to the suggestion rather than duplicating it.

We intentionally don't do that anymore. All threads, including old threads that haven't been posted in for years, may receive posts. If someone comments about the thread being old, then we may delete those off-topic posts.

Also, with Vbulletin you could download your PMs to a text file. The feature doesn't seem to exist nowadays.
The forum software that we use doesn't have that feature yet.

well this is embarassing. It is indeed there in the footer of the e-mail and you were right, it was easy to miss. Can this also be added in the in-forum notification/alerts

That would be helpful, along with the ability to filter alerts by section. :)

We have seen all suggestions in this thread and appreciate them. We respond in this thread when we have something helpful to contribute to the suggestions.

Please keep in mind this thread is not for discussion. If an idea requires discussion or you have important questions, then you may start a new thread for it.

Thanks.

No idea if this has been mentioned but I would like a search box for domain sales. So if i am seeking a term and it is listed somewhere under the categories all sales threads appear in the search results, cheers

You may be able to do that by using the Advanced Search and selecting only the marketplace sections/forums:
We'd like to make this simpler in the near future.

I would like to see subdomains like....

com.namepros.com
ca.namepros.com
io.namepros.com
break.namepros.com (breakroom)
etc

So if I wanted to get to the .ca section I could just type in ca.namepros.com

You could also do a simple redirect like namepros.com/ca

I'm always hunting for particular forums, a subdomain or redirect would be very nice to have.

On one of my business sites I publish a subdomain for every page of my site

ie....

about.me.com
staff.me.com
map.me.com
forms.me.com
services.me.com
terms.me.com

you get the point

it allows people to get to certain parts very fast

Neat idea! In the meantime, you could utilize your browser's bookmark bar with a bookmark to each of those sections. :)
