I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I made two contacts via the online form at frank(dot).ca and the second time I told him I was ignored and I am serious about acquiring this domain. Second contact was also ignored.

I know I did not make an offer but I attempted contact twice and in my head I was willing to go to 5k to acquire the domain name of my first name Frank.

I just responded a 3rd time and told him I was a domainer myself and his lack of response showed poor management of his domain portfolio. I explained I was thinking in the 5k range but at this point I am not interested in further contact.

It still gets me how domainers do not respond. Imagine a car salesman not answering an inbound inquiry for a sale. Sometimes I just feel like giving these domainers a wake up slap. He should at least have engaged me, especially after the second inquiry.

PS. His form did not ask for an offer, it only had a text field so he did not even have the sense to ask for an offer if that is what he was waiting for. He could easily have responded.... looking for xxx to start the dialogue.

Outside of my personal domains I'm down to just 2 .CA's these days:
  • Tallboy[dot]ca (gets some sporadic interest, one of which I was able to link back to a brewery)
  • Sieve[dot]ca (looking to unload, no interest to date)

Thanks. I own 'findyour.ca' too, but I'm using that for my experimental Efty site. But anything is for sale in this business ;)

Where do you find the best place to sell .ca domain names? (I am not talking super premium names, but ones that maybe are in low to mid $$$ range). Thanks for any advice those of you who have been in this a lot longer than me.

That's why I got findyour.ca and sellyour.ca

My plans are to turn them into a marketplace for .CA's only. I'm experimenting, exploring and saving $$$ at the moment, but if anyone is interested and has something to bring to the table (money or tech skills or contacts) I'd love to partner up on this.

Best of luck with that venture, @Spex! I think there is definitely room for a vibrant, modern place to sell .ca domain names. With the Canadian connection requirement to register, I think it makes sense to have a Canadian specific place, rather than just as part of the big sites like Afternic network, Sedo, Undeveloped, etc.

Has anyone listed on http://excellent.ca/ or even know if they are still active? I ask because everything on their site hasn't seemed to change in months, and I see they don't have the recently announced big .ca sales included under listed domains.

The other site (mentioned earlier in this thread) is https://www.domainbrothers.com/.

Are there other similar sites I don't know about?

DomainBrothers has a nice site, thanks whoever shared that.
I see some names on my wish list that are registered.:stop:
Very hard to market .ca, marketplace may help and the one forum dedicated mostly to .ca DNC dot CA
is lacking participation
CIRA has sucked at promoting .ca as reg numbers show.

Learn something from this page https://www.domainbrothers.com/sold/

Also noticed @DomainBrothers.com opened an account here but no posts.
@Juana has been posting about them, maybe she has some knowledge to share.

It's interesting (but not surprising) that DomainBrothers.ca goes to an under construction, and the site selling (mainly) .ca domains is DomainBrothers.com!

I'd be very interested in listing and buying names at a .ca marketplace. It's a necessary step in the maturation of the extension. I'll help if I'm able.

Been talking to a member about doing just that, the .ca marketplaces I've seen so far are in a sorry state of neglect.
