I wanted to discuss some domains. I think Reg of the Day is good for what it is and appraisals are good for what they are! I wanted a space where we could really talk domains. I have selfish motives bc I do want to talk about my domains . . . :) But I want to discuss your domains as well. Feel free to jump in with any constructive feedback that you have.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I would go for Weed or Cannabis or Canna type brandables. Marijuana would be my last choice.

And the Turnkey discussion I've only heard of it as far as homes. I need to start posting some of my domains here but I'm afraid of the responses. You always take things/criticisms well @Want2learn I think your good disposition will go a long way.

If you don't post, you don't get constructive opinions.

Going back to names with qualifying words, I've just reg'd tryHGH.com - it's a good short name, but I'm not sure how the "try" prefix will work. Human growth hormones is a very competitive market, so a short and relevant name is a useful find, as long as it works of course.

It seems that no domain situation is exactly the same . . .

If you saw cartime.com sell for XXXX and you could get timecar.com for less than 100, would you? If cartime.com were an up and running business with no trademark, would you?

That is the point.

No domain is like another, even with the same keywords.

There is no comparison between the names time/car/com and car/time/com.

They both have completely different meanings and values, even though they have the same keywords.

We are at the blackjack table. You have King King. Dealer has a 6. Flips over a ten. The last 3 players to your right all had 5,5. They all doubled down and took a 5 each. So 9 straight 5s have gone off the board. That's when I say, well there are no 5s left . . .

If that makes sense, then this will make sense!

I actually like the "Try" before HGH. On a personal level, I kind of would like to try it myself. Perhaps it could be a website educating people who want to try it, but need more info first!

I used to do well until they changed the rules for Blackjack. MIT and IBM ran a simulation of a few million games back in the 1960s. It was when the fall joint computer conference was in Las Vegas, and they published the results in a magazine called Datamation. So many people were winning that they changed the rules. Optimum play gave you and edge of around 2% against the banker.

PokerThought.com

Any thought(s) on PokerThought.com?

For people that play Poker, they understand PokerThought as actual thought. I know PokerThoughts.com would be universally better and or more accepted. This isn't let me convince you thought is better than thoughts! It is what do you think about PokerThought.com:)

It is time (if just for a moment) to take the gloves off. Bring all you got! Just be helpful!!

EthicsCount.com . . . I own. I got it 1/1/17. It had been previously owned for 4 years and then deleted.

EthicsMatter.com . . . Just sold back in February 2017 for $102. It does have some age to it!

I wonder if a domain like EthicsCount.com is better in the dot org realm or not?

EM has more search activity. I can't argue with the stats, more people look at ethics matter than ethics count. But I am a little surprised my EC hasn't drawn a little more attention.

Thoughts generally?

Any end users I should consider reaching out to?

I'm not sure if I would have picked up either of the ethics names. I'm not sure of the commercial possibilities for them. I might if I was doing more for political comments, but then I don't think I would pay much for them in that case.

That has negative connotations for me, I'm not sure I need to know ways to blow my money paying poker. :)

Not to mention the sexual connotation...

VERY different names. And a very targeted end user. No comparison to be made there.

Now that could be a new fashion trend. A top hat with castellations. :)

Well you and @Recons.Com have been very helpful lately. If anyone should own impulsive.com or the shortened specificlearningdisability.com via SLD.com it should be me. Possible dumbfillintheblank.com.

I feel like I'm at a confession now and I'm not Catholic.

RateYourPlumber.com
RateYourDrink.com
RateYourGynecologist.com
RateYourTruck.com
RateYourWorth.com
RateYourDomain.com

Maybe there are already too many rating services. Maybe my choices are too specific. They are 3 words but the RateYour feels like one word bc it doesn't sound right taking your out.

The rate your domain was kind of a funny in my mind. However, if we can ever rate rank appraise domains why not that site?

Rate your worth can go multiple ways. Worth as a human. Worth as an employee, boss, parent. If rate yourself has hope I believe worth does as well.

Other than the argument that these domains could be hand reg and therefore no one wanted, I think the domains are solid.

Thoughts

My thoughts are I would like knowyourworth or know fill in the blank's worth better than rate your worth or fill a different two word combo with rate. No one wants their personal worth rated but things rated yes but these are pretty generic.

The only one I personally think is of value and what do I know is rate your domain and possibly rate your truck but even that one not sure on.

I hope you've moved onto buying any good two words or shorter ones. The 3 word long ones you have need some balance

RateYourPlumber is ok but Angie's list and big reviews sites do all that now

I like knowyourworth better as well! If RateYourWorth is a lemon, time for me to roll up my sleeve, burn my forearms, and crank out some lemonade! I can rate your worth though in other ways than personally. For example, if I rated your worth as a person, Id be treading lightly. But maybe I am rating the worth of positions. And not just at my McDonalds, for instance. Rate your worth could be rating jobs, degrees, schools . . .the "your" in this case is fluid! But please know I agree with your initial sentiment. I guess I just see someone logging on to rateyourworth.com and then entering their degree, and a number spitting out. Or a picture of their girlfriend ;) Or job title. Maybe in an industry . . . what is a stock broker's worth in financial industry?

Funny that rateyourdomain was best in your estimation . . . being on a remaining type forum!! :)

I thought about Angie's List . . . Ive never used it. Might be great. Might be a need for others to compete with her. I do like rateyourplumber dot com.

Still shocked rateyourtruck was available. Maybe it was available for a reason . . . kinda like status . . . ya know some folks that are single, are single for a reason . . .

I still like rateyourdrink, could be great for bars and clubs!

I just thought if a woman were looking for a gynecologist she wouldn't be looking at family physicians. Felt like it was solid enough!

In other news I did manage to restrain myself a whole heck of a lot. but I did reg these . . .

financeguarantor.com
financialguarantor.com

based on seeing this:

financetechnology.com 4,588 USD 2017-06-26 BuyDomains
financeadvantage.com 166 USD 2017-06-19 Dynadot
financepass.com 180 USD 2017-05-10 GoDaddy
financeall.com 2,500 USD 2017-02-16 BuyDomains
financereference.com 1,088 USD 2017-02-14 BuyDomains
financelately.com 400 USD 2017-01-16 Flippa
financexpert.com 299 USD 2017-01-14 GoDaddy
financedubai.com 147 USD 2017-01-14 GoDaddy

financeguaranteed.com 5,262 USD 2007-12-22 Sedo

Now for the really embarrassing part . . .

I went to Google. I saw this:
Volume: 170/mo | CPC: $11.76 | Competition: 0.16
and this:
About 7,800,000 results

I am not sure what the volume, cpc, and comp mean. I looked them up. Cost per click . . . but what does that mean? And I decided to reg those 2 because I had not seen CPC that high before. High might be bad, I have no idea:(

LOL yes I saw the movie.:xf.laugh: but wasn't recently. LA could also be an abbreviation for Louisiana and possibly other things.
