Got a bite on my domain Y*A*sh*Turaa (Remove *) in king. It means buy. Been busy so did not reply back. my bad. it's a godaddy broker reaching out even though my whois is never private.

so Whale? or just someone not knowledgeable about how to buy domains?

I always wonder and suspect when someone hires a broker it's a WHALE and if so $700 offer might be someone trying to pull a fast one.

or could be an honest offer.

also it's an arabic domain. I hear on here that Arabs don't really value Domains in general. that they don't "get it" and would rather go with some other name.

But if we talking about Arabs. the word BUY has to have some value to them. Oil Rich as they are. or no?

problem too is that the Arabic language when worded out using western characters even Google shows multiple variations. I guess depending on the region of the middle east someone comes from.

I've shown some Arabic friends (usually food vendors as I DO LOVE Halal Gyro's and Kufta. YUM!) the word of my domain. and they always agree it means BUY.

So what should be my counter offer here? I can't talk to the actually buyer as they have hidden themselves using Google.

I wondered too in these situations if "sweetening the pot" for the Godaddy broker by giving the broker 5%-10% commission as an incentive to "convince" the buyer to agree to a high price like $10,000 would be a good idea?

Also I hear that not much "Bites" on Arabic words (western characters)because Arabs are very frugal and don't really understand why domains cost so much. so this might be my last chance to sell.

Should I sell at $700? or ask for more? $1000?$2500?$3000? (these are prices I see typically over at hugedomains and buydomains. granted they are not arabic word domains.)

mine is not a short 4L like souq in king. but it is an EMD.

I don't mind selling at $700 but this whole Godaddy broker thing makes me suspect it's a whale or is that wrong to think?

NP Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Edit: lol my bad the domain is misspelled. Remove the A replace with U. see that? I really don't know anything about Arabic Language. lol

It means buy.

BUY a pretty awesome keyword. That plus the GD broker means counter for more.

.com = in King

Just a way to prevent the potential buyer from seeing this post. If you be the name plus the dotCom Google will pull this discussion and show the buyer this discussion.

This is why we domainers use king.

Just accept the offer IMO

Should cover the rest of my Arabic "bets" and make good profit. But something tells me to shoot least for $1000 maybe $1500-$2000. What do you think? Being greed again? I've lost many a deal from being a bit greedy.

Counter with 5k --it is good keyword, although in different language - what is the point to sell domains for peanuts?:)

I would rather negotiate... and counter offer.. here ...

I was wondering in first place how it made you register this domain :) That should give an answer to your question D

I think if their first offer was $700 and they are using a broker then it's would be a good call to counter. Chances are there is a fair amount left in the kitty for you to take. :)

Yea and it is an ODD word right?

Anyone care to theorize who the buy might be?
Always fun to play detective with broker assisted inquiries.

Could it be someone wanting to start an online shopping store?

Also. Very odd too . Whoever this was definitely isn't a domainer as.

Y*u*sh*t*ar*aa is my domain in King.

As you can see it ends in double (aa).
And the version with just one (a) at the end was available for reg. Just in case took it too.

Could that be a sign the buyer is not a domainer? And can be a potential enduser?

Hamster wheel sure is spinning.

Again don't want to be greedy $700 is good ROI on a $8 bet.

I've countered on $5k offers B4 and got silence in return. In hindsight should have taken the $5k.

You gotta admit domaining sure isn't boring! Lol

I don't know. Figured Arabs = oil money. Plus the souq.com sale.

I'll counter with $5000 and ask the broker to keep the buyer on the hook and counter.

Would tipping your hand to a broker saying "I want to sell" or " I motivated seller" prevent me from getting a higher price after I counter with $5k.

Overthinking this again.lol

Is the name spelled the way you did ? Y/a/s/h/t/u/r/a/a?. If so then it is way off my friend:)

The A after the Y should be a U in which case it will be to buy ...with the word "with" in Arabic coming after it:)

So you can counter and see but I think 700 is ok, but I suggest you check other languages too , maybe it is something else

^^Sounds like you should prob sell and not try to convince yourself you have a whale on the hook. That being said, I did no research on the word or potential value of the name myself. Good luck.

lol. I knew someone Arabic would correct me sooner or later which is why I edited.

yes it's U not A.

I just spoke to someone at the Halal Kennedy Fried Chicken place hehehehe. counter guy was Arabic. showed him on my phone the Google Translation for "Buy"

and my spelling is correct. he said. but the way he said it the "aa" at the end sounded more like "ree" or "ri"

like

Y*U*S*H*T*A*Ri

two (a's)? and sounds like "ee"? lol

anyways he told me my version was the Adjective not the Verb version.

can you confirm any of this?

and what do you mean "other languages"? never thought of this. like?

Thanks for advice.

lol I've followed my GUT FEELING before and lost a $5k offer. so I think I'll make a fair counter and call it a night around $3k-$5K range. if it's worth more then fine. but I have 1 year into it and $3K-$5K is a good roi.

Thanks guys.

You lost an offer?

You lost an offer?

yup. I was a putzy. lol it was Chinese offer. and their FIRST offer was $5K on a domain. no need to get into details but I got greedy and then they just deleted their email account never to be heard from again.

was it real? who knows? but I'll always "wonder" but we move on right? on to the next?
next time around I'll know better.

and this is that time. although this time it's a broker not an email from a total stranger.

EDIT: oh you thought the $5k offer was for this domain? no! it was for a different one. a "virtual" domain.

Did you ask an Arabic guy at a Fried Chicken place to verify your spelling? LOL

Well, I don't think you lost anything necessarily. You can't blow a sale unless you are sure the buyer was real with real money and the negotiations didn't pan out. I've had too many random offers with no response to call them a loss if there is nothing after first contact. Anyway just my .2c since I don't know the whole story :)

hahahah YUP!! and I got a 3 piece with fries(no thighs! I only like thighs on my women not chicken lol) w/ hot sauce , Mashed potato gravy, Coleslaw, and a bean pie. and Watermelon.

(look at pic) lol

I think I was African American in a past life! lol

yea so I put buy in the Google translator and it showed thee exact spelling of my domain and he said it was correct. lol

he DID say that problem with Arabic language. unless you use actual Arabic characters. there are many different variations when Arabic words are converted into western characters. So many ways to pronounce some Arabic words and also depends on where in the Middle East you live.

I'd rather go Arabic converted to Western Characters vs. Arabic Characters because not much sales for Arabic IDN domains.

unless I'm wrong.

UPDATE!

So strange thing. I sent my counter and get an immediate email and now seems as though Godaddy wants to push this offer to Godaddy Auction? Anyone experience this before when they did a counter offer on Godaddy?

Do I have to accept this? as with an Auction don't I as thee owner of the domain have to pay Godaddy commission if I proceed with auction? I'm confused. gonna call them tomorrow. but this is new? never seen this before.
