Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Long shot.
Its all about the Roi.
Hows your Roi so far? Got to renew already?

Long Shot? ok...... let's do this BASIC.

Try and find an LLL combo + VR.com

where the LLL has no vowels?(A,E,I,O,U) I suspect 70% will be taken that's 10,648 possible combinations.

Also I've noticed that Chinese domain investors who handreg seem to want only the LLLVR.com configuration not the VRLLL.com

Kinda like how BIZCN.com as it's business name.

ok upon further lookng 4.cn seems ready for english clientele and domains get verified and accepted okay. I added some VR domains to test it.

it also offers parked landers in about 15 layouts.. each of which is fully editable and customizable, in a text editor like window.. much like where I Write this here now.
I've yet to see a parking company that lets you edit your parked page to the last letter or character on it.

needless to say, u can also create one of your own park page fully from scratch.
need to point all your dns to them though.. there is no bodis or above.com redirect url to those guys.

I might give landers a try later.

either way, let's hope this can help us sell some vr doamins!!!

@Avtar629 When you get going I always look back and forth between your words and your avatar and laugh. I know it's not, but just so I can put my mind at ease, is that really a picture of you?

hahaha naah just google Fat Chinese kid and you'll find him. yea I think it's that my sugar is high. (I'm diabetic!) lol I do get like that I admit. but we never run out of smartasses on NP. everyone is entitled to their opinions and just like everyone is entitled to defend themselves.

See for every Eladnof who wants to make negative comments and insinuations that a person is headed for failure. there's probably 90% of the time people who start to believe it and GIVE UP even trying to WIN.

and then there is the 10% to ignores the negativity and just keeps on trucking.

As for me? I'm with the 10% of VR domainers who are CONFIDENT in their VR domain choices. What other option is there? Sit there and believe the negativity?

What good would that do?

This is why I've ignored pretty much all the negativity on here and just keep on truckin.

But I do love my haters though.lol. At the steady rate VR domain sales are going and my inventory of VR domains even the crappiest domains will sell for $100-$200 with some good salesman ship and piggy back featured listings. Something I've preached about many times already.

All I gotta say to the haters is. JUST WAIT AND SEE. and as ALCY has stated countless times before.

IT'S TOO SOON to be SURE of ANYTHING in the VR Domains Market.

One thing is for sure VR Domains are selling.

so much so that VR domain sales on NAMEBIO fall off the list past 04/16/2016 after the 10th page.

I mean Namebio stops showing records for VR domain sales past the 10th page.

what other VR niche do you know has that many sales?

anyways that FAT Kid kind looks like me a bit. lol in fact if that kid doesn't lose weight he'll end up with diabetes just like me! lol

Best of Luck 420Domainer! and remember Hate is FUEL.

VR will be huge but the bad names wont sell in this niche, 99% of the average names wont sell either. If you managed to get some really good names, or have taken a risk with VR in a certain industry and it does happen, then you could get some sales, but average and crappy names wont ever sell in any niche. You might get lucky and just have a certain name that a company wants (acronym or brandable names etc) but that will be the exception.

I have some names in VR and Im also hoping it develops quickly so I can hopefully make some sales, but I have found that if the better keywords are taken in .com, rather focus on other strong cctld's, dont settle for less by putting in random keywords with VR and hoping that keywords becomes popular in VR

Please dont start the naysayers stuff (yes..you know who you are :)) I am a VR investor too and wish everyone the best, but if you look at every other niche in domaining, the same thing keeps repeating itself, even with the most mainstream technologies. Good names sell, bad names dont...simple..names like VRFan, BestVR, VRPlus, StarVR, SmartVR, VRTech were always going to sell at some stage, they are popular "short" words that can be used in a variety of VR industries, those words will always sell and if you check other niches, cloud for instance....there are lost of developed sites using those words above (CloudStar.com, CloudPlus.com, TechCloud.com) or the names are at least registered. Words like Plus, Pro, Tech, Smart, Guru, Inc, etc will always sell and are often the first ones to sell in upcoming technologies

I was just joking..
But in a niche like that when there is a bigger need for names and the niche expands to various industries, more names will be sold ofcourse, and there is the resellers market..

Cheers.

@gilescoley I'm not disagreeing with you, however, I think you're underestimating how big VR will get personally. Just out of interest, tell me a niche that you have ridden through that will be similar to VR, that is an accurate comparison in your eyes. You won't be able to. VR is a game changer even for the domaining industry. I've been saying it 12 months and slowly gathering up my chestnuts while people have been focusing on China.

I have sold 3 average names in the 300 to 650 range in the last 3 months.. these were names on my "To Drop" list, funny enough. Average names do sell but it will take longer than anyone expects and need to be priced right.

Bad names might sell if you are lucky or you a proven seller. Didn't someone sell VR-Games(.)net for $3K and VRDogFight(.)com for $2K. These are not the best of names in my opinion. (no offense to the sellers). Bad name are a lottery. A high risk gamble.

Finding good names lowers the risk considerably.

@LucidDomains ...Im not underestimating it at all, I do understand how big it could be come and what industries it will be used in, but there are always sales like in the beginning, but at the moment, most a reseller purchases

VR-Games.net - VR games will be huge so hyphens and extensions wont have impact on sales. Its also owned by a domainer (who owns other names) so names like that dont give a true reflection of the market. I mean there are thousands of VR names being registered and purchased bu domainers all the time. VR-Games.net redirects to some spam sites so hes not really serious about the name

VRDogFight.com - also owned by a domainer by the looks of it, he/she has quite a few VR names

When we get weekly VR sales to end-users and they are being developed as well...thats when things start looking up for us

Haha! Again with VRdogfight (my sale). Sure it's not a top 10 type of name but it's still a good name for a huge niche of VR gaming. If that is not worth $2000 I'm not sure what is.

Mein VR in king.
German for My VR.

Thoughts?

Not going to name the domain as it's promoting, but i think it's worth saying right now, a VR domain as got 'editors choice' on Flippa, think that shows VR has a place in domaining.

I don't think any of us have any doubts on the potential of VR (or we wouldn't be here), but the question people need to ask themselves before registering/buying a domain name is even if VR goes on to be the next big thing, are certain keywords needed in domains?

When we get weekly VR sales to end-users and they are being developed as well...thats when things start looking up for us

don't take what follows like you're reading your bible.. cause you and me, best we can do is share opinions and speculate about the future.. knowing the future is above our paygrades.. so please, do not be insulted or feel I am trying to steal your soul with my words.. let's have fun and make love with words instead:

you'd need to check every single vr sale so far.. which is a lot of checking.. to compile definite info about enduser vs reseller sales.. developed vs undeveloped sites. which is in the hundreds as far as I know. I think you've done 2 or 3 sales so far. so there is some more work to do here.

and once you've spent hours doing that, it'd still say nothing (or not much) about the future sales of VR domains. what will or will not sell. or for how much. or when.
to put simply and shortly: there is no such thing as crystal balls. and you have not seen unfold before what you are seeing unfold now in VR. no matter how many niches you've looked at.

imo and opinion of many others (here and elsewhere) not all niches are created equal. VR happens to be one of those higher potential niches. aka "revolutionary"... it's pretty pointless to compare potential of a revoutionary trend, of which there are maybe 5 or 10 per century.. to potential of a non revoutionary trend of which there are maybe 5 to 10 per year... in a higher potential revolutionary and stronger trend, a weaker domain may do way better or have more chance to sell, than a stronger domain but in a weaker trend.

I hope you accept the friendly way in which I try to share my perspective with you and we can share a pipe or something.

cheers

@alcy

I won't reply to all that..you are obviously a vr-obessesed domainer with blinkers on and no other opinions matter to you..that's been proven over and aver again on this thread

I can assure you I have spent more hrs researching vr than most on the thread..3 or 4 of us on here were looking at vr names in 2009/10...we just dont go out and grab every random keyword possible.....I get emails sent to me from various platforms (12 to be exact) with only sales of vr, ar, robotics, cloud, holo and other niches I follow so I know of all the vr sales

@alcy @gilescoley its getting old.

All agreeing that VR will be huge so lets stay with that.

hmm.. well that didn't sound like your interested in my pipe much.

I think by now its also been proven that you are a vr-hater and naysayer. to come on this thread once every month or so, for no other reason whatsoever but to say everyone's domains are crap and won't sell.. and all this while thinking you are welcome and appreciated for doing so.. this requires a very particular type of character indeed! one for which I personally have a complete lack of respect for... I hope its the same kind of total disrespect you will receive from others here as well, as you are receiving from me. perhaps then one day you'll come here and say something nice and positive about other people's hard work and investment. I don't mean to embellish things for anyone, but because u will have realized deep inside your heart the truth.. what truth? that you do not own a crystall ball.

til then.
