Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

In this great article from Jamie Zoch at Dot Weekly, Jamie lists 1000+ domains owned by Andrew Sievright of Domain Source that were purchased by GoDaddy. This portfolio included nearly 100 LLLLs. GoDaddy is now offering these LLLLs for sale as premium domains, each with a minimum price of $15,000. GD currently has USCE listed for $49,200. Other examples are ABGR IMSU NYYT OBGE STHR UCSE.

Amusing...the naysayers are so quiet lately.

I'm one of them and have been proven 100% correct. Everything I said weeks ago about 4l chips being an awful investment the last 4 months and counting still apply.

I'm out of 4l chips so don't care that much about them (although would like to see them move up some time due to the 5l chips I have).

The floor has been going down yet again sharply for days and is now 14,288 RMB

If you like the look of that chart then power to you IMO.

N.B The last sale just been reported on chaomi is:
pjqd.com - 13,999

Again I hope this market picks up again at some stage on a selfish level but the 18k+ RMB highs of October are frankly miles away at present. If you bought in pretty much any time in the last 4+ months you're tying up capital hoping for at some stage things to pick up when your money could have been far better spent elsewhere. However, if you bought in before that then of course you're still okay.

You certainly have a very short time horizon.

I was referring to those naysayers who were telling us, in 2007, then in 2009, then in 2009 and so on, that the buyout will not hold...that $100 for each LLLL.com was a bubble...etc.

I am laughing all the way to the bank.

That may explains the increasing volume of unwanted offers I am receiving via email by Chinese domainers.

The bubble is bubbling!!

Ah gotcha, slightly cross purposes here and misunderstanding from my end what you were referring to.

For sure, if you got in very early on 4l like you did then all good.
Many people were very late to this and only entered in the last year, so of course different factors and concerns to take into account as mentioned above in that scenario.

I think many of us are laughing all the way to the bank, but what gives the best ROI right now is a different discussion entirely IMO. Each to their own!

Edited to add: I only just twigged you are the OP of the thread from 2007 :)

LLLL.com chips have held well in last few months, excluding quick and short spike to 2.5-3K region. Better than stock market, anyways. If an investment does not add 10-100% in 4 months, it does not make it bad investment. Some have longer view on their investments.

Again each to their own.

My main point is an ROI one in recent months and what provides the best chance of that, but yep long term they've performed exceptionally well, no doubt about that.

I had a .org name I bought for 14K$. I held it for 7-8 years, I guess it was "terrible" investment during that time (except, it was not intended for sale, but offers were rarely above what I paid) and then it sold for 45K$ via direct offer. So, yes, long term thing is not bad and actually is more rewarding, because you don't have to do daily huge volume of work that comes with the supposedly nice ROI per name for quick flips.

And even as investment, different people have different goals. For Chinese, if an asset class can keep their value for years on the same level even appreciating 1-4% a year, while providing absolute liquidity outside of the country, that is a fantastic investment. You buy 500 of LLLL.com chips for $1MM, you have a great inheritance for your kids or yourself in case government comes after you, tightens the system or just completely decides to go the other way. They have seen enough in their lifetime to expect that one day from respected businessmen they can turn into bloodsucking speculators inside their country and will lose everything in a day.

Valid points.

I'm still entitled to my opinion and am comfortable with my decision to cash in when I did (yes I got serious ROI).

I've made far better ROI in other spaces in recent months but again respect longer term holders who are still crushing it. :)

Good luck to all.
