.io .io Thread and Showcase

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Bought a new .io domain through sedo last week a NN.io , bit of an investment and gamble but worth a shot in my opinion.

Anyone investing in .io domains? please feel free to share your investments.

Cheers

idk i thought because of the keyword being typed in so much that people might stumble upon it more often

Somehow I agreed about the ranking.
Example: html-color-codes.info ranked well for the term "html color code" in Google search.

I don't park but I can be certain that no fresh registration gets any action (unless you're first in line for a brand new term that has gone viral).
New secondary extensions are useless for parking.

.io is popular amongst tech startups because it means input output which is the very essence of how any information processing system (computer/tablet/device/phone) communicates.

If, for example, songs.com is not developed (many great domains 90% maybe are just parked) I still wouln't want to put much time/money in to songs.io because any time the .com was developed I would be out of business.
But maybe this is just me.

Google has stated that domain extensions would have no impact on SEO ranking - https://plus.google.com/ MattCutts/posts/4VaWg4TMM5F

Which means, theoretically, a .io has as good a chance in ranking on Google as a .com.

I have just 1 .io domain but would not mind maybe having 4-5 as long as they were super generic and 1 word. Mines is 2 words but I will also hold on to it for at least a few years a well. Once the super generic words are gone it may go up in value...possibly

I see .io as Input Output, such as storage, throughput, backplanes, aggregation etcetc..

Backplane.io is avail if that seems good?

How is spending $1,050 on a name you regged a few months ago a good deal for them? For you, yes.
I bought the domain. The name was actually registered and dropped, which is when Judgemind got it. If you look at .io, many top domains have deleted and been scooped up.

Art.io is the last one of these I'll buy. It's 15 years old. The very best keywords are worth the risk with this one IMO :)

I'm trying to sell swo.io to the South West Ohio Computer Association they currently use swoca.net. They might buy it (fingers crossed)

Good luck with that. Just registered swt.io which is pretty similar to yours. Will be interested to see how you get on.

Best,
Paul

The .net is up for 20k though and that appraises for 167k. I'm not looking to get rich off a domain name just looking to make a coupe bucks I figure I should buy it i should be able to at least get my money back for it i hope lol

Average monthly searches are 165,000 and suggested CPC 44 pence. The highest search month is December when people are Christmas shopping I guess.

I am new to this but I should think you should be able to sell
