Today, I received the following email for several of my NNNNN domains:
Please take care! NNNNN dot coms are becoming popular and more valuable, so be sure to do any verification directly through Go Daddy (or whatever registrar is involved.
By the way, this thread can be moved -- I wasn't quite sure where to start this.

As of Dec 1, 2014, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has mandated that all ICANN accredited registrars begin verifying the WHOIS contact information for all new domain registrations and Registrant contact modifications.
