Anyone else registering 3D domains?

It seems that 3D is going to be the the next must have technology, according to the big brands, they are all launching 3D TVs.

I attempted to find good 3D names but the best domains are already taken, I think in 5 years time or even less, those generic 3D domains will be worth a lot. :imho:

Anyone else registering 3d domains? Do you think they have a future?

to confusing links / redirects not a good idea
On 3d tv the ads are going to be visit us on the web at 3D.com whatever the company name.
Not the regular site with / redirect

Plus the 3D site is going to be a completely different site not the same site in 3D

I have been looking at 3d projectors too and now that godaddy has the $2.99 special on .US domains (when getting 6 or more at the same time) I decided to register a few more .US from my list.

Thanks. Showreel may also refer to digital agencies and freelancers showcasing projects. Since 3d is very much a part of the future plenty of agencies, businesses etc will be making use of the technology and will want to showcase their talents.

Very True. Many were raving about VOIP, and yet it took a few years to catch up to the hype. Although 3D might have a different success rate. Only time will tell

If a domain is TM'd it should not be available to be sold period
Go Daddy should not be selling em what so ever
Also McDonalds should buy every domain with there name possible to avoid this.
If you buy sears3d.com and do nothing with it and don't park it you did nothing wrong.

To be honest I bought about 40 TM names in december when I really did not even know what I was doing. I then found out what the deal was so I have em. Not making a big deal about them as I have 65 free and clear ones worth good possibilities. Heck I own mcdonalds3d and coca-cola3d and motorola3d.com which will never be turned on ever and will never see the light of day.

I have a handful of mostly .co.uk 3D domains. Some of them, I think, are pretty good. At present I really don't think they have much value, but hopefully within a couple of years when 3DTVs are very mainstream, they will be much mre valuable.

When people here discuss the potential opportunities that might arise with new trends and new technologies it is with the assumption that everyone knows to stay away from terms that are clearly trademarks. IMO

I regged 3Dxxx.net around a year ago and it's been bringing in 200+ visitors a month for months now, revenue too. Definetely one of my nicer hand regs for '09.
