domain States.im - Thoughts on value?

This isn't a hack, it's using the domain extension as an acronym. There's little difference between ".im" and another extension that has decent letters. There's no value here unless you find a person who happens to like the name, wholesale or reseller would not be interested.

Somebody will buy it thinking it has value, because of how close it is to an incredible key word. Or, somebody will buy it to make an ad site with a great key word in the domain. There isn't another end user. Nobody wants to take on somebody else's failed brand, they want a fresh start...

For a $20 bill, the risk is minimal to somebody who wants to purchase this domain to have it redirect to their longer URL. It's unlikely somebody with a long term business plan would develop this name as the home for their website and business. $20-$50 i would say, because of the implications.

I hand registered the domain sent.pm, because i was able to get a steep discount. I don't usually do hack type domains, but there's no value in the .pm extension anywhere, except time based hacks (ie. 12.pm, 10.pm, 9-5.pm) Obviously in this case, the domain means "sent private message". I...

Not bursting my bubble, i'm from Cape Cod so i know how popular "dawg" is (heh). That's in the real world though. It doesn't translate that well to internet usage. For example, i know somebody who created the brand "iowadawg" and with little effort, claimed the top search spot on google...
