Hi I am new to this forum and I am experiencing some weird things. For example I bought an auctioned domain with appraisal $4500 GoDaddy, $40000 at estibot and $55000 at saw and I paid $270 as a won bid. And I am willing to sell it of course higher. And people here say $50-100 to buy. Is this normal here? Or just they're kidding 😂 ?

Appraisals are just appraisals, a number is just a number. Value is subjective. It is completely normal. You can't take the appraisal tools at face value. They provide interesting metrics and can help you gain insight, but getting sales at those prices is by no means guaranteed. What was the domain name, if you feel like disclosing that? I'd be curious.

Domain was plzy.com it's in auction again. But about appraisal...GoDaddy still appraisal for betting.online is $4000 and it sold for $400000, so yes appraisal is just appraisal but not the wrong way right?

Looking at your appraisal requests, but not knowing which one exactly, I'm going to say the membership valuations and comments are correct. Don't go after domains because Godaddy etc gave you a false sense of value. Your probably going to lose every time.

OK, your above post came-up as I posted. Your comparing Chalk-to-Cheese in your above example. You need to get a grip on your own understanding of domains and their potential value. With that skill-set your easily spot the outlandish valuations that auto valuation tools throw-up

In that case betting.online is a winner or just got lucky I guess

Just use logic here; value is ultimately up for interpretation. Every domain is rare, unique, but the value is in how you market it, human psychology, and how the buyer intends to use it.

Or more likely, billions of people look for and associate with betting-online. whilst Pizy has no meaning or association of value. Well done for trying to promote the domain further but it's not going to work. maybe your get lucky and get your original outlay back

Domain appraisal tools are crap.
Don’t you wonder why are there so many domains unregistered with estimated price more than 1.500$?
Personally I would sell many of my domain, in wholesale, in 1% of their GoDaddy appraisal.

I guess I can't agree more, you are right they should fix their tools for more realistic appraisals.

I can't tell if you're being serious. It's not the tool that's the problem. It's the fact that you think there's a set value to any given domain name. I told you. Value. is. subjective. Of course there are things that increase a perceived value, but the value will always be what we provide to it. A domain tool tuned to harmony even with all the data in the world would be more "accurate", but only as much as the input. Garbage in? Garbage out. Economy is always changing. Prices will change. Inflation exists. It's stuff like this as to why there is only one reliable tool: your brain

Of course I am serious. Why are you so judgmental relax man. I told you are right you don't have to be toxic. It just a damn question. But serious are not some buyers that want to buy good valuable domain names for super cheap, that's not make them smart but stupid if they think they can trick you with negative comments about a cool domain just to decrease the price. I don't belong in these buyers and will never be. As you said the value is something in your brain not what you and I are saying. For example betting dot online still sounds weird and looks funny but the seller managed to sell it and totally this is a lucky bet as it name. Every who thinks it's the "deal" or the cool seller they are wrong. A good product is a good product, like other industries there good bad and also medium qualities. If someone ask pricing the seller for home dot com for example to buy it $200 then probably the problem is not the seller but clearly the buyer.

Man
This is a resellers forum , what do you expect ?
And to be honest , that’s not an astonishing domain.
Not a clear meaning
Not an acronym
Not pronounceable

It’s just a common LLLL.com
And those goes for around 150$

That’s all , nobody trying to steal nothing from you.
Now , you can accept that or you can convince yourself that you have an awesome domain and we are all trying to play games in order to steal your domain.
That doesn’t mean tomorrow or in 1 year or 5 years an end user comes and offers you 10K for it cause he wants it. And I wish that to you.
But here , a resellers forum , it’s different.

Yes but it has no cost to be more gentle isn't it? Especially if it's resellers forum and should more "professional" in the way your talking. No it's not worth $150 don't fooling yourself too. Do a research first then talk as a "professional" right? Probably most of the people here buying thousands of names in case to sale one of them they feel happy afterwards. Like you're buying 10000 lottery tickets and wins one. wow I guess this is not the purpose. I didn't say they are trying to steal it, I am saying this is ridiculous from every side you can check it. be kind to others and gentle. Your not in a war. You are in a forum probably for professionals not a discount market for clothes. It's so simple.

I personally prefer people telling me I bought crap instead of being gentle, just to make me feel ok with it.
And nobody here told anything mean to you , they just shared their opinion…so did I.
I even said I wish you to sell it for good money.
You should thank people here for using their time to share their opinion with you , instead of being mad about it and start complaining.

You are making 3 mistakes here:
1. Believe/asking for Appraisals
2. Post the name here
3. You did not learn first before buying something and now you waste people time

Now the name is dead because it has been indexed in Google.

You must relax a little bit and calm down. I thank everyone every time unless the people who have attitude. I didn't complaining to no one probably you are forgetting the basic post. It was humorous. If you have humor. I still believe if some wants to buy a Mercedes with $2 dollars he's maybe crazy or stupid or clearly unprofessional. So simple as that.

You keep telling people to calm down , but the only one here being mad is you.
Have a nice day

Hi

in the long run, it's possible you could get $,$$$ for plzy com
just because this is "reseller" forum, doesn't mean you have to accept reseller offers, or the reseller mentality.

as for betting dot online, i get skeptical when there isn't a website on it, that reflects the reported expenditure for it.

imo...

I think you are totally correct my friend. Thanks for your answer!

As others have pointed out, domain values are highly subjective.

Automated appraisals are almost meaningless.

What one party and another party are willing to pay will vary wildly.

When I value a domain, it is based on my own valuation. The appraisal value and what another party paid is irrelevant to me.

With that said, sometimes you just have obvious lowball offers from people looking for low hanging fruit.

Sorry, but I disagree.
For 150$, you get Domains, which are crap (edit if I'm not allowed to write that word). Everybody claims them here a Wholesaler; maybe we are. Perhaps we are just Hobbyists. There is still a limited amount, and as we know, it's the TLD used the most globally. Look at the Historical Data. Good 4L had those prices, probably.
We are in a "professional" Forum, with people dealing with Domains daily, most likely.
On top of that, we have a financial crisis. Many people have Liquidated their Domains most likely (can not prove with Study or statistics).
It's like the stock market. Ups and Downs.
If I'm not wrong, there are like 450k 4L Domains. I don't know :) If you can sell me some for 100-150$, feel free to contact me.

But one question on that topic:
- Is this SEDO Domain Appraisal worth it? I don't want to praise @Eric Lyon too much, but is there something else / more they are considering?
Has anyone experienced it?

Happy Saturday!

I don't mind doing them in professional appraisals. Just be courteous to others that may want one. Maybe when you see the queue is down to one or 2, then add one or 2.

Have a good weekend.
