We're kinda splitting hairs here, like fighting fire with fire.
I think it's crucial to almost every argument running. People refuse to see the good and bad in every path, only seeing good in their chosen solution and only seeing bad in another's. It makes dialogue impossible. Sometimes there are no real solutions, so problems have to be managed - but people refuse to recognize that. And that opens the door to dictators who promise easy solutions.
The only thing going thru my head (besides the potential of a bullet) was, how do I take this guy out?
The situation always clarifies the mind. Amazing how much one can think in a short period of time when it's life and death. Several minutes of thought rushing through the head in the space of a second or two.

Days have been mostly warm and sunny, average 20C (68F). An orangy haze in the distance of smoke from wildfires. There have been alot of evacuations...might have to pull the plug here soon.
I worry about family in BC, as well. In some ways, wildfires are worse than earthquakes - they just seem so inevitable. One thing about California - almost no mosquitoes. But wildfires....

Lesson learned: Choose your battles and live to fight another day.

My mantra: Embrace the moment...live and let live.

Peace out :beaver:

Did any of you ???

Think that fellow Americans would be debating in this thread as to whether the United States should have a Marxist -Socialist government??? A Society of Satanist and Witches???? An Extremist Gay society that demands to have children and Kids taught homosexuality , Transexual and discuss with them changing sexes ?????

I know for sure i never thought this thread would be the subject of.

not with fellow Americans who want these things.
You just repeated the same stuff in 3 straight posts. Marxist, Socialist, Satanists, Witches, same stuff year after year. Which just tells me you guys are nervous, since you're not talking about any real topics, top 10 kind of topics Americans care about. Basically admitting Biden is doing a great job. You're really the only one in this thread talking about Witches and Satanists, don't act like this is normal conversation and debates people are having. It's not a reflection of America, it's just you.

Tell us how Hunter Biden was VP under Obama or how Hunter is President now.
The only influence Hunter had to sell was his fathers. Period.

Tell us why they can't find the informant, did they lose him? Tell me if you know what "allege" means. Tell me why there are 0 charges on Joe Biden.

Because the FBI is a corrupt democrat operation, otherwise Hillary's aids would have been charged with destroying evidence and government property.

Tell us more stories about the SPLC and parents trying to protect their children are really white supremacist. Were the Muslim protesters Proud Boys?

When people get finally fed up with the lefts lies and targeting their children, there is going to a severe backlash. Antifa and corrupt DA's won't help.

Mike Pence isn’t made to be a president IMO .. Ron DeSantis was born for this situation ..

Who knows how it all is going to turn out as a complete ticket for the Republican Party , hopefully the ticket is doubled down with a strong VP

November 5th is going to be far more epic than Trumps victory in 2016 . No one can stop what is going to happen on November 5th , no one or nothing can stop it, it’s Destiny

DeSantis probably will win because Trump will likely be disqualified. I don't want to rip into the guy, but seriously, can't Republicans find somebody a li'l less radical and li'l more conservative?

Although he doesn't have the 'IT factor', Pence stood his ground for what he understood was a conspiracy to usurp a free election. He was right in doing so and in my books, that's a true patriot...respect.
There have been other republican presidents with way more common sense than the conspiracists and science deniers Trump or De Santis. All of them have already distanced from the crazy wannabe dictator Trump.

U.S. Climate Change Policy in the 1980s

https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/N...for-US-Leadership-on-Climate-Change-in-1980s/

GOP Presidents Recognized Need for U.S. Leadership on Ozone Depletion and Climate Change
Reagan Overruled Cabinet Members Opposed to Montreal Protocol on Ozone Layer
Bush 41's State Department Warned "We Simply Cannot Wait" to Take Action on Climate Change

"Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush actively promoted measures to combat climate change, with Reagan in 1987 overruling objections within his own Cabinet to a major proposed treaty to protect the ozone layer, according to recently declassified records posted today by the George Washington University-based National Security Archive (www.nsarchive.org). As world leaders, including President Barack Obama, meet in Paris for the latest round of climate talks, the posting reveals a desire by the two Republican leaders from the 1980s for strong American leadership on climate issues that sometimes resembles the Obama White House view more than that of many of today’s top GOP officials – or presidential candidates.

In connection with the Montreal Protocol (negotiated in 1987 and put into effect in 1989), both Reagan and Bush 41 showed a clear desire to tackle environmental concerns and to lead the global community in that effort, according to the documents."

George W. Bush Condemns the Trump-Era Republican Party

https://www.usnews.com/news/politic...-bush-condemns-the-trump-era-republican-party

"...he said in a rare interview that his party has become ‘isolationist, protectionist and, to a certain extent, nativist.’

Bush, who has been relatively quiet on the political scene since he left office in 2009, let loose in a rare TV appearance, saying the Jan. 6 insurrection "made me sick" and was a "terrible moment in our history" that taints the image of the United States around the world."
-----------------------------------

And yet, the wannabe dictator says he would pardon Jan 6 insurrectionists... of course, as he was the main inciter of that Attack.

Trump says he would pardon a 'large portion' of Jan. 6 rioters

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/do...-pardon-large-portion-jan-6-rioters-rcna83873

"Former President Donald Trump promised Wednesday night that if he is elected he will pardon a "large portion" of the people convicted of federal offenses for their participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol."

Pence hits Trump over his praise of Putin

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/06/07/politics/takeaways-mike-pence-town-hall-cnn/index.html

After arguing that the US should accelerate its support for the Ukrainian military, Pence pointed to Trump’s description of Putin in a February 2022 radio interview as a “genius” for his invasion of Ukraine.

I know the difference between a genius and a war criminal, and I know who needs to win the war in Ukraine,” Pence said. “And it’s the people fighting for their freedom and fighting to restore their national sovereignty in Ukraine. And America – it’s not our war, but freedom is our fight. And we need to give the people of Ukraine the ability to fight and defend their freedom.”

Pence’s comments align him with Nikki Haley, Trump’s United Nations ambassador and a 2024 rival, and against their former boss and DeSantis, who entered the GOP race last month. The former vice president echoed Haley’s veiled shot at DeSantis – who described the war as a “territorial dispute” – casting such characterizations as naive.

Anybody that thinks Vladimir Putin will stop if he overruns Ukraine has what we say back in Indiana, another thing coming,” Pence said. “He has no intention of stopping. He’s made it clear that he wants to recreate that old Soviet sphere of influence in Eastern Europe.”

Lying about election results, inventing any kind of lies saying the election has been stolen just because he couldn't get over it after having lost, for example.

Well , some believe that the 2020 election was rigged , some don’t believe that . .. that is on a person by person , case by case basis ..

At some point , and it might be soon , the Left isn’t going to have the cards to play they have been playing since 2020 , for instance , if DeSantis wins the nom , you alls Trump card will be gone .. or .. Trump could withdraw .. it’s possible ..

We are the closest in modern history to having a nuclear war , a civil war , a race war .. the US , and the world is in complete shambles. If any of those end up happening it will be solely on the people ..

Have the scientists changed the doomsday clock closer to midnight lately lol .

It’s bad, it’s real bad.

Now, imagine what that attacker could have done with an AR-15 with several full magazines.

Look at what the attacker did with a knife , a simple kitchen appliance can turn into a blood bath , if someone uses it that away .

Yes. But at least, if you don't have an attacker with an AR-15, you can prevent what could have been 100 deaths.

And same with any arm possession. If everybody go out there with a gun, the risk of engaging in a shooting in the middle of the street increases exponentially.

The best way to prevent such attacks is to Police .. stop an attacker before they can get to a school and perform such violent actions. Make arrests , make laws with such stringent sentences, that a potential attacker might think twice before committing such violence .

Yes. And that Police task would be incredibly helped by banning "free guns for everybody" policies.
Police should be the only ones allowed with guns out there. Everyone having a gun has never been a good idea.

Think in every car discussion, in every moment of rage anyone can have in their lives, in every moment of depression... now add it to having a gun in that moment, and you dramatically increase the chances of having a shooting anywhere.
