".LINK is no worse than .XYZ".....like the .com loyalists despising the .xyz insurgence, the .xyz loyalists despise the .link insurgence.

While most of the really good "single word" .link domains have been registered still a few remain. For example, the day after Thanksgiving I was able to register Thankfulness.link that happens to be no worse than Thankfulness.xyz or Thankfulness.com.

In the way of an update.....domains under management aka DUM has grown from 200,000 to 221,000 since May, and 1,500 of those I've registered. In addition, i have it from some reliable sources that "Good News is Coming":xf.wink:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Another winner, Rich. The reason they steered away from Cadabra is because the reference to magic was found to be too obscure. It also sounded like "cadaver" to some people.

It's not surprising.

The world changed and is continuing to change at a rapid pace.

It's hard for dinosaurs to keep up to speed. When I'm his age I have no doubt I will just be as oblivious.

My dad has been in IT/INET since before the WWW was even a thing, and quite successfully at that. Now my 4 year looks like the master and he's like the apprentice.

It's the circle of life.

Joe, it's obvious you've never named a business in your life, yet your're so critical of others accomplishments:xf.grin: And yes, i know the story behind the "one person" who thought he heard "cadaver":xf.wink: instead of cadabra.

Finally, when you get a chance check out; BobbytheClown.com.....there you may learn something about the business of Magic where the term/word Abracadabra came from:unsure:

I don't know how old your Dad is sonny boy, but my partner who helped me start AcSel.org in 1978 had a computer science degree from LSU. When I brought him into the organization the name of our company was "Accounts Receivable Management Corporation" which yours truly changed to AcSel in 1982.

Regardless of your rhetoric, I'm just as creative and capable of starting and naming businesses as I was 50 years ago. In fact.....I'm Better:xf.wink:

Avatar? What's that...a TLD?

But since I have your attention I'll share with you and other followers that the new owners at .LINK have recently finished their new pricing of "in house" domains that heretofore were very affordable. Take for example: camping.link......i could have purchased it back in July for $118, and it would have renewed for $118. However today it's priced @ $4,130 and it renews for $4,130. Unfortunately i missed the boat for camping.link, but fortunately(y) i'd landed over 1500 .link domains since the price increases.

As for those of my friends who own domains like Free.link, Sex.link and Ads.link, hang in there for I believe 2023 is going to be a good year:xf.grin:

You're missing the point Richard. Naming is easy, being able to obtain the best suitable domain for the brand is a totally different game. It happens to be what we're discussing.

If it's not possible to obtain the .com or a decent alternative, go back to the drawing board and come up with a different brand. Don't pivot to a random TLD which happens to be available.

As for acsel... You didn't own the .com did you?

Are these .link domains listed for sale yet or still not pointed to landers?

If you'd been paying attention I said earlier in this thread they'd be pointed to landers by the end of this month. Stay tuned:xf.wink:

Who uses Linkedin these days?
My account has a few thousand connections, but I don't use it much.

How @ThatNameGuy expects to leverage LinkedIn into selling .link domains I have no idea.

Everything is so broad, without any specifics.
The whole idea seems so implausible.

I sold out to my partner in the early nineties to start Contact USA for which I did register the domain ContactUSA.com......a terrible name I know, but when you own a call center that contacts millions of customers throughout the United States of America what are you going to do:xf.rolleyes:

You can call me Sir:xf.wink:

This thread is like the movie Groundhog Day

November 2019

"Did you also mention in 2 years, you haven't listed your names at the various marketplaces or even setup proper landing pages so people can actually contact you to make an offer? Stuff newbies should pick up during month 1."

https://www.namepros.com/threads/domain-myths-and-lies.1162896/page-2#post-7493429

I took a look at one you posted - FreshPasta.link

Via Chrome browser goes to default Namesilo page with no way for people to contact you, make an offer

Via Firefox and I have Eset installed, it's blocked. It's like no learning is taking place, you haven't progressed one bit. You're still not setup to actually sell domains. Among many other of the same problems. Getting all these .link domains, 2 worders, even tho it's easily 90%+ 1 word .links that are selling. I see all the money you spend on these and wonder what would happen if you hopped on Namejet and bought some decent under $100 .com. You might get your first sale.

You know how many times you've mentioned AcSel.org? 32 times:

Like I said, Groundhog Day. Take the time you spend telling the back in my day stories and work on today, get some decent landers for all your domains.

My avatar is the picture of the boat above my name, with the name of my domain selling business underneath.

Based on what?

Do you mean for domains or .link specifically? Most seem to think the economy will take a downturn... But you think more people will be buying a currently unpopular TLD despite that?

What's the significance of the "Sel" portion? It seems like a non-intuitive play on the word "accel", but I can't figure out why.

And why .org at the time when .com was probably also available? Acsel.org registered in 1999, Acsel.com was registered in 2000.

I won't be surprised if his answer to "why .org" be something like "well, because .link was not available".

I disagree. Groundhog Day actually involved some learning curve.

If ThatNameGuy featured in that movie, they could just film the first day and then replay it many times until the spell is broken in some way or it is Santa Barbara-like soap opera.

Perhaps this is more like The Song That Never Ends.

If you'd been paying attention Elkhan you'd know I wasn't with AcSel in 1999/2000.....maybe you were still in diapers:xf.eek: Come on man.....pay ATTENTION.link:xf.wink:

WOW....how long have you been hanging around JB? Hell, I've had two "Holes In One" since I last heard your name. What's your attraction to the .LINK gTLD? Linkedin?

so you left before they registered a domain? Wondering why didn't you name it Axel, or Accel, or Axxel, or Accell?

How does the choice of Acsel somehow show your branding proficiency?
