Interesting they have to run that chart back 270 years (to 1750) to make the US the bad guy! Who cares who was emitting what in 1750? Let's stick to the present...

We've emitted nearly 1000 metric gigatons since the Industrial Revolution began, in fact, that carbon stays in the atmosphere for thousands of years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can spare even one minute to educate yourself on part of the problem we face today, fast forward the following video to 06:38...

You're good at pointing out problems - not so good at pointing out solutions. Bill Gates, the largest landowner in the US now, could plant trees. But he's not. Electric cars bring in toxic mines and environmental destruction. Those with the biggest carbon footprint, the wealthy, the military, are doing little to reduce it - but they demand that a family in a small house suffer the cold in winter to do their bit. Carbon trading, another scam to make the rich richer and control common people.

It's all being used to either make money or to disempower common people and make the powerful even more powerful.

So rather than rant at people like those in this thread, working to support their families and making a relatively small carbon footprint, maybe you should turn to your leaders - especially the ones who promise to do something about it but instead make it worse or use it as another way to gain money and power.

Whether I take a shorter shower tonight will not make any difference at all.

Thank you for your kind words @Domainace... the first step in recovery is admitting there is a problem.

It's not your fault, society as we know it was built this way and we were born into it. Climate Change/Global Warming has been a 'hot topic' ever since Al Gore (though I had already been working on solutions decades prior).

It seems to be a point of centention for Left Vs Right politics. In this thread, I've been accused of being a socialist, leftist, liar etc. by those refusing to admit there is a problem and/or are resistant to change, yet my message has been consistent and proven by science. There are other threads on NP's that address some the challenges society faces and offers some solutions. Feel free to contribute, or for starters, watch the full video I just posted.

You're making progress :xf.wink:

Nice that you are conciliatory. I hesitate to point out that saying you are good at pointing out problems is not at all the same as saying there is a problem. Most of the real problems in this world involve politicians and other unsavory people. Any time they offer up a problem, it is almost certainly a scam - maybe a scam with some basis in the truth before they distort it for their own ends.

I might also point out that I sent you a PM over a year ago re: EcoSoap, a product I developed, designed to assist with Eutrophication. Have you found any sources in Japan?

I walk my talk. I don't wait for the debate to end, nor am I under the spell of any politician ...I create solutions. :beaver:

Gee, I wonder if citizen Trump is planning to run in 2024? He said he would make an announcement TODAY.

He's raked in a fortune grifting the "Big Lie"...he must have a hefty nestegg by now. There's a prime example of how a politician can distort the truth, using his position for his own ends.

here's a prime example of how a politician can distort the truth, using his position for his own ends.

Not only has this dude grifted the gullible, he's a classic example of a Climate Change denier. His actions speak even louder than his words (if that's even possible). Take for instance, he just signed a deal with the Saudis to use his name at a luxury Middle Eastern resort. One wonders how many millions of gallons of water daily will be pumped through desalination plants to keep the greens green in an adjacent golf course to be built in a desert, likely in the estuary which will also compromise a nature reserve.

Eutrophication will certainly be a thing, with temperatures in Oman reaching as high as 45 °C or 113 °F., burning fossil fuel to run their AC. If that's not blatant 'in your face' ostentatious disregard for the environment, I don't know what is. Maybe I'm wrong, and if that's the case, who cares how long you take a shower? That wouldn't even be a drop in the bucket. Do you really want me to suggest a solution?

This is why it takes democrats weeks to count ballots. They cheat.

Hobbs wouldn't debate. Dodged every tough question, support gender theory in grade schools, etc.. But she beat Lake who consistently lead in every poll.

They "ran out of paper" to print ballots and turned voters away.

Okay @mr-x , I'm not disagreeing, nor agreeing with your assumption, but wouldn't the absense of paper for ballots cut both ways? Doesn't a lack of paper cause absent votes for both candidates? Assuming that Republicans eager to vote lined up early, so in that case, wouldn't they have had more access to paper ballots prior to Democrats (also assuming the latecomers turned away were Democrats)? You'll counter with the argument mail-in ballots swayed the outcome, of which, is there any evidence to support the claim they cheated?

Polls are just that, polls. It was widely believed that the Red Wave would be a tsunami, perhaps that fear motivated more Democrats to get off their behind and vote in response to the polls. Why? Because one candidate supports Gender Theory? Who knows, I'm just playing Devil's Advocate. I'm not a proponent, nor am I a Democrat, nor do I lie (although you have accused me such and to this day have not yet apologized). It just seems to me that you're assumption Democrats cheat is more of a Teleological Argument than a fact... and proposing bias interference (gender theory taught in schools etc.) was a determinant, is purely hypothetical.

Thanks for that. The trees are quite common around here, especially around shrines. There are several companies selling soap made from it - though the most common product in Japan seems to be toothpaste. One of the trees borders our property, and I was playing with the seeds a couple years ago wondering if there was anything I could use them for.

And yet we haven't heard a word from you about the crimes of the current administration, which are far more harmful to the country and still ongoing. Selective outrage is insincere and nothing but deceit. But I don't expect you to change your mind any time soon, so once again we'll leave that to the side.

Maybe I'm wrong
Comments like this are why I continue to engage with you! "I might be wrong" is the seed of wisdom that so many seem to lack.

Let's say you are mostly right. You are predicting the future of highly unpredictable and complex climate processes - so I think it's safe to say 100% accuracy can be ruled out.

I have a more immediate worry. You worry that the planet may become barely livable for human beings. I worry that, if current trends are allowed to continue, human beings will have little reason to live. We are in the final stages of approaching enslavement, with a small and amoral ruling class using big tech and raw government power to control us and the rest of us owning nothing and eating bugs. And, ironically, the very issue you are worried about (climate change) is being cynically used to advance that fascist agenda. And this is why you get so few converts willing to work with you. All humans (except the psychopaths who rule us) want a clean and healthy environment for our children. We also want our children to have fulfilling lives and not be slaves.

Your cause has been coopted by criminals to advance their own agenda. You want to solve the problem, separate the cause from the criminals using it and I am sure you will find wide cooperation among people around the world. If instead, your solution means more power to the criminals, you will face increasing resistance as more people wake up to what's happening. As long as they remain in power, all of these problems will only get worse because they have no interest in solving them.

It's kinda like the lesser of two evils IMO.

On one hand, a former prez who does nothing but blow hot air in denial, promoting lies and defying the law of the land and hiding under a rock behind a team of high-priced lawyers (ie. not even bothering to show up to testify to Congress when subpoenaed) and would despoil federal reserve lands under protection of US law in order to enrich his crude oil cronies, endangering the environment and continuing the US' addiction to fossil fuels that would lead to further Climate Change, all the while supporting foreign interests.

vs.

Current prez who would use/overuse the public purse to develop new technologies, likely granting contracts to further enrich his Made in USA cronies, proposing reduction of reliance on fossil fuels, possibly reducing US' carbon footprint by pausing Trump-era drilling, and thereby tripling the protection of federal lands reserved for future generations, but otherwise hog-tied due to partisan politics.

Hmm, tough choice, lol.

Agree/disagree, that's the way I see it anyway. I also appreciate intellectual discourse and debate @Domainace.
It's healthy to get the dirty laundry out in the open, even if we agree to disagree like it or not, that's the American Way, just as it is in Canadian politics (not like the neutered slimedog who continues to downvote in anonymity... Meh, it doesn't take a genius to guess who) :meh:

ps. I use solar equipment made in USA, Canada and China. The US equipment is the envy of my Cannuck friends who are of like-mind. I've never had issues with the old-school equipment even though dated, it has performed great for almost two decades. The Chinese equipment is cheaper, and I have to replace it every couple years (used primarily for backup).

It's official... "I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States." Trump said during an announcement speech, "America's comeback starts right now."

Donald Trump files federal paperwork, announces 2024 presidential run

I can tell you one thing for sure, if you think my attitude toward the billionaire loser is tainted, it's nothing compared to what's in store...many of the younger generation EcoWarriors are a helluva lot more radical.

You ain't seen nothin' yet... America is about to burn. :xf.rolleyes:

You do understand that walls also keep people in, just as those who were prevented from leaving the hall after Donald made his presidential announcement. :xf.wink:

How about this context? Government employees not completely loyal, "You're fired!"

"For the people, by me."

The writing is on the wall....
