I nominate Rob Monster as the president of GoDaddy

I think Epik will be next acquisition of GoDaddy.

I don't think GoDaddy wants anything to do with Epik and their history. There is too much in the way of politics and drama for them to want to deal with.

Sedo, I'm sure you're reading along. Now is the time for serious innovation on your side.

No surprise GD is eating up a lot of the industry. They've got the bucks to do it.

Less competition is never a good thing. We'll see.

Competition must be there, otherwise it will be pure oligopoly, where only a few will control the market. Moreover, GoDaddy is very famous for sticking to decades old system, no new innovation, no dynamism, no new products. With big name like GoDaddy, we expected a better price, better and Faster services.

Bad news for the drop listers. Better remove those unregistered domains.
I guess the google analytics changes wont affect dan users as afternic doesnt like showing those stats.

time to leave DAN also??
When GoDaddy acquired Uniregistry, I removed my Uniregistry Market account. But domain marketplaces is not so many that deletes from them.

I still have old listings from 2015 at godaddy and I didn't used them for the last 2-3 years, so not really any difference.

Time to recheck sedo landers...I have a dejavu with 20% commission, days or even weeks until receiving the payment and the standard 72 hours until you get an answer from customer service.

Not a fan of this acquisition... Really sad news. Good for GD, good for Dan but I foresee trouble for us users.

Oh well... It was good for as long as it lasted.

It is not a big surprise, but I am not sure it is good news for domain investors. Apparently, they haven't yet decided if Dan will still offer low commission rates.
I am so disappointed in DAN. They fought the law and the law won. People use DAN because they don’t want to use GoDaddy and don’t want the high commission. Meet the new boss same as the old boss. This is a huge step backwards for everyone except GoDaddy’s monopoly.

If GD jacks up commissions accompanied by spurious claims of "valued added" services due to their "expansive Afternic network" then yes, damn straight.

We all know that you will sell the most where you send all your backlink/type-in/search engine traffic to, and I'm not giving it away like candy.

I am already investigating the viability of Etsy as well as software packages that support domain landers.

Considering the less than stellar broker service I received from Dan on a recent offer, my sleep pattern will not be interrupted by this development.

LOL, let me know if any gambling sites are laying odds, as I want to put half my personal wealth on "Higher Commission Rates" for the win!

well let's all enjoy final days of 5percent lead and 9percent sale fees. rip dan

And everyone is talking about the impending loss of the 9% commission rate, but what about the 5% escrow fee on your own leads? I have found that to be a very useful feature, but with the internal competition from the lucrative GD and Afternic broker services, I expect that option to also go the way of the dodo.

That's the problem with these corporate takeovers, a lot of prices, fees and services tend to step on the toes of the parent company and are either repriced in accordance with the new owner or are summarily tossed into the dumpster.

Either way, customers always lose.

I would say that the big winners here are Dan owners, who will cash out big time...on the second place will be godaddy, because they will get rid of the competition, but the same as in uniregistry case, there will be only a few domainers using Dan after the takeover si finished, so not a big win...the big losers will be dan.com customers ( us)
